I agree with both sentences. And while I definitely agree that the problems are bigger than the manager, Oli makes it really hard to like him. I don’t think he’s horrible, but I also don’t think he’s very good. And I don’t think he comes off very well.

Unless Oli gets us in the playoffs this season?
Good one.

Still have the universal DH?
Then I'm still not watching. Just checked in to see what y'all were talking about.

We didn’t always agree with Tony or Whitey, but they held players accountable, and put guys in the best position to succeed! Their records speak for themselves, and so does Oli’s. He’s bad and not even trying to get better. He just keeps doing the same stupid things expecting a different outcome! He plays favorites in spots he hopes they succeed in, and refuses to make changes when they dont pan out. No other Manager in baseball would bat Burleson and Baker in the two hole! NONE! No other Manager would have let Burleson hit against that lefty with the game on the line! NONE! Not when they had better options available! Managers dont win very many games, because it is the players on the field that have to get the job done. However, Managers have to know which player gives the better opportunity to succeed in game situations. So they can lose games by their lack of moves. This is Oli! He fails often to make to correct moves!

I wonder why someone comes on here and says that they are not watching the games...really, who gives a [fork]?

I guess you go to Walker to force the Mets hand??
Walker not exactly killing it!
I think Oli needs to take the George Costanza approach?
Think of what to say or do and then say or do the opposite???
Of course. Burleson has sucked. Walker not much better but leaving Burleson to face a LHP when he has a career .244 OBP vs LHP might be the stupidest move ever by a manager in a 2-0 game.
I know the Cards need to improve talent to be a serious contender.
However.....if you can’t see that he is in over his head then I give up!
Serious question- what positive quality does Marmol bring to this team??
It’s crystal clear why he is the manager. They want a yes man puppet that will not push the front office or ownership to do more to improve the team.

They figured Schildt would be their perfect puppet. He showed a backbone and tried to push the front office for more help. He was immediately canned for philosophical differences with the team.

They do not want to open the door to give a manager the pull LaRussa had so they keep hiring managers they figure will just be happy to have the job.

Performances isn’t what the front office is looking at from the manager position.

As MO MO said when he fired Schildty
“Winning isn’t everything”. Everyone should’ve known that was the truth and how this org is run.

During the season or just by calendar year? I don’t think he’s back for the ‘26 season but I don’t think he’s fired until after the season is over.

My initial impression of him after he publicly called out O'neill was high school Charlie.

Going forward the only way this franchise succeeds with the tv deal causing revenue problems is if Bloom does more with less. His blockbuster trade with the Dodgers was every bit as bad as some of Mozeliak's trades.

My accuracy rate is well north of 90% - but nobody is perfect.
To your point, those rare occasions on which I am not fully correct do not dissuade me from continuing my analysis.
It would be unkind of me to deny my perspectives to others.
Yes, The Marmot will be fired in 2025.
As certain as your next heartbeat.

Bloom was told to get rid of Mookie, it’s not as if he woke up one morning and was like……you know what…..we don’t need him anymore

Mo gave away 2 aces in one single trade. That’s hard to top
