Regardless, our boys played a hell of a game against the Presidents Trophy winners.

Scraped into the playoffs with a historic 12 game winning streak and narrowly lost to the Presidents Trophy winners in Game 1.

It was a hell of a game and I enjoyed all of it.

I’m glad you had a fun afternoon in front of the tube, but this was winnable. 1 shot in the third period isn’t acceptable, and it cost them the game. You score three on Connor Hellebuyck in his building and you have to win. Period. That’s what champions do.

To the extent the blues had a true chance, it probably ended when Holloway went down. It’s all house money now really in my opinion

Agree. Best case is extending things long enough that he can get back into action. But also don't rush him. Whatever happens is ok at this point.

Tough loss because of the 3rd, really seemed out of it. Jets are good but I can’t help but feel that Snuggy looked a little green tonight.

Loss is definitely more related to the mismanagement of the puck with the lead where we gave up possession on dump/flip/etc. That said I thought Neighbors and Snuggy looked a little antsy with the puck tonight in their limited touches.

I would try Bolduc on the 2nd, and see between Texier and Snuggy who gels better on the 3rd line. Someone might need to play an offside but the lines felt a little wonky tonight on the forecheck.

We just went toe to toe with the best team in the league and proved to them we aren’t a pushover, nor are we scared. Thats all I want from this team right now. Play hard, don’t quit and let the chips fall where they may!

Snuggy was lost…dear in the headlights look in his eyes.

I've thought so for a while now. He's just too green for the amount of ice time and responsibility he's getting.

I understand Bolduc was piszed off. I understand the opponent is a diver. Bolduc can’t do what he did in that situation. Monty sat him for a shift. I hope he learned.
Snuggy was lost and didn’t seem to ever want the puck. I hope he learned. Texier couldn’t be worse. I give him a pass for his first game in “the Real Season”.
Our D men seemed scared to join the rush.
Our last 19 minutes of the game were not good.

I hope we learned. Because we CAN beat these diving peckerheads.

You can still enjoy good hockey in general, the Jets were pressing they needed the goal you don’t NEED shots until you give one up. Bit them late but we did almost get some double bonus hockey as well.

Yea. Even if they go down, at the very least you hope for some valuable experience. I didn’t hate their game tonight at all but obviously need to learn that you can’t coast in April

Ill-timed icings, not having your leading scorer score on a breakaway when you're up by a goal, not taking a penalty negating a PP which has been red hot of late, etc.

Exactly. We can all pat ourselves on the back and talk about how close we were to going to overtime, but to win in the playoffs you gotta be a LOT cleaner than that. No moral victories here.
