A few of these games won't start until 11pm ET for eastern TV viewers, so expect workplace productivity to take a dive. Most of these games will televise on the fantastic Fubo app, which I just worship:

The opening round is filled with intriguing matchups. The Eastern Conference will feature the first “Battle of Ontario” in 21 years, with the Atlantic Division champion Toronto Maple Leafs hosting the Ottawa Senators. In another regional rivalry, the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers face off for the second year in a row, while the Carolina Hurricanes will host the New Jersey Devils for Game 1 on Sunday. The last-in Canadiens will face the Washington Capitals, the top team in the East this season, starting on Monday.
The Western Conference is headlined by a heavyweight fight between the Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars. The Stars came out on top of that matchup in the second round last season, and now have Mikko Rantanen on their side.
The Presidents’ Trophy-winning Jets will host the red-hot Blues — who won 19 of their final 25 games — for Game 1 on Saturday. After winning their fourth Pacific Division in eight years, the Vegas Golden Knights will host the Minnesota Wild for Game 1 on Sunday, while the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings face off in the first round for the fourth consecutive season.

Re: Your NHL Playoff First Round Schedule and TV Networks
Looks like wild fans got the hosing. 9 and 10pm starts locally for the first two games. That’s just gross. If that series goes deep still TBD for games 5 and 7.
Imagine we would have gotten the same treatment had the wild not scored with 20 secs left and there would be ten threads complaining (rightfully) about start times.

Re: Your NHL Playoff First Round Schedule and TV Networks
I loved game times when I lived in CA, and in AZ during summer, when we're on Pacific time. I can watch Sunday NFL games during brunch at Marie Callender's at 10am; "Monday Night Football" at 5pm; watch the first pitch on east coast ballgames at 4pm; and be in bed at a reasonable hour.
Then we took to RV'ing to our friends and family on the east coast. My Dodgers home games wouldn't start until 10pm every night, and they didn't have the MLB package to watch the next day, so I had to keep the volume down low to be a good guest and not awaken them.

Re: Your NHL Playoff First Round Schedule and TV Networks
Bad sign: That serious Cup contenders must knock each other out in the first round. Dallas vs. Colorado? OUCH. Florida vs. Tampa? Just not fair. A few years ago I had to endure my Maple Leafs vs. Lightning in the first round after an entire season of wishing both could win a Cup....without knocking the other out in Round One.BrummerStealsHome wrote: ↑18 Apr 2025 13:41 pm Looks like Blues-Jets game 1 kicks off the Stanley Cup playoffs this year. Hey, what does a Maple leaf fan do when they win the cup?
Turn off their console and go to sleep.
