You didn’t see Carson Kelly hitting .419 with 6 HR, 18 RBI, and a 1.675 OPS? How could you not?11WSChamps wrote: ↑18 Apr 2025 16:30 pm I know the wind was blowing out but the Cubs might be better than I thought at least on offense.

Except they've got 3-4 guys currently playing WAY over their career norms. So is it sustainable because right now they're on pace for 1,009 runs.11WSChamps wrote: ↑18 Apr 2025 16:30 pm I know the wind was blowing out but the Cubs might be better than I thought at least on offense.

When wind blows out, that is Little League park.
Read once I think more total days wind blows IN rather than OUT.
Anyone else hear that ?

Latest in a long line of mediocre veteran players who go to Chicago and start posting career stats due to the "friendly confines" of wiggley field.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑18 Apr 2025 16:33 pmYou didn’t see Carson Kelly hitting .419 with 6 HR, 18 RBI, and a 1.675 OPS? It took D'backs reliever Joe Mantiply 22 pitches to get one out.
Hats off to the Cubs. They could have phoned it in after coughing up that 10-run inning.
Bob Brenly is having a field day in the D'backs booth, cackling after seeing so many games like this when he shared the Wrigley booth with Harry Caray, Thom Brenneman and Len Kasper.
I hated seeing the D'backs lose, but dang...it was one helluva game.

Just an old-fashioned Wrigley slugfest. It seems they don't happen as often as they used to.

GAB is hitter friendly too.
Not so at Busch. Our hitters have it tougher in our 81 home games.

I watch every Dodgers game and the players often describe a night game catch at the wall as "that's a homer during the day" due to the late evening's sometimes-heavy marine layer.
When I lived there I'd come out to the car in the morning and see a wet, salty rectangle of condensation on the street, framing the car like a parking space.

That would be brutal game for DBacks fans you think you’re witnessing the greatest dback come back in their history flying on cloud nine then doom and catatonic despair

I'm not so sure the wind was a positive for the hitters today at Wrigley. Box score says 11 mph in from RF.
And all the homers in the 8th had EVs of more than 100. Just terrible pitching. They didn't need wind.

I'm thinking about the likely improvement for Busch, Crow-Anderson, not to mention the addition of Tucker who's going to be murder in that ballpark.

They added a real hitter in Tucker and Busch and Crowe-Anderson look to be players on the rise.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑18 Apr 2025 16:35 pmExcept they've got 3-4 guys currently playing WAY over their career norms. I’m torn between hoping Tucker has a terrible year because he’s a cub or hoping he has a monster year so he leaves and signs a massive contract with the dodgers or hopefully the Yankees11WSChamps wrote: ↑18 Apr 2025 17:44 pmForget about Kelly.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑18 Apr 2025 16:33 pmYou didn’t see Carson Kelly hitting .419 with 6 HR, 18 RBI, and a 1.675 OPS?
