Vegas is good but I think any of the 4 central teams would give them a run, and I'd probably even favor the three that aren't the Blues. Those are three very deep teams with a ton of top end talent. But they may eat each other alive too.

Dallas/Colorado is a hell of a first round matchup. The Rantanen storyline is incredible. But I saw Robertson left the game last night with what looked like a knee. Could be huge with Heiskanen also unknown. That's a big blow to them.

Dallas has been my pick since last year. Still claiming them. But makes me nervous that they did the old coast to the finish line and get smacked 7 games in a row. They could do that because of all their winning, but man I do side with the idea that it's hard to turn off the competitiveness and turn it back on. you better hope you are just that much better than your opponent when you do that. But in the case of them vs the Avs, I don't think there's enough separation. That series should be a blood bath. And the Avs have legit poster board material for the locker room.

As long as oilers are healthy besides ekholm I still have them. But if more are out then they will be in trouble.

To the OP’s question, you could make a case for that, but you can also argue that the Central winner will have had the tar beat out of them and how much would they have left?

Whoever comes out will be battled tested but also might be beat to [shirt]. Tough call. If say Vegas or LA has an easier time getting thru the first 2 rounds and the Central winner goes thru two wars, I'd have to think Pacific winner is the favorite to win it.
