Don't tell me what other GMs have done.bud white wrote: ↑17 Apr 2025 10:36 amHenrik Zetterburg was drafted 121st overall ... Pavol Datsyuk 171st overall.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑17 Apr 2025 10:11 amThere is no denying that some GMs can find exceptional talent after pick 10. However, it is rare.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑17 Apr 2025 08:27 am Winnipeg doesnt have a top 5 pick how can they beat anyone or win a Cup????
Connors #17
Ehlers #9 (OUT)
Morrissey #13
Perfetti #10
Scheifele #7
Stanley #18
What is known, however, is that Doug Armstrong is NOT one of those GMs. Even if we got a TOP 5, Army may screw it up. The best young players on the Blues at the moment is Broberg and Holloway, and Army did not draft them.
Anybody hear anything about Adam Jiricek lately? What ailment is he recovering from this time?
How many Datsyuk's and Zetterburg's have you seen Army find with lower-round picks?

If Thomas isn’t 100% to start then the Jets in 5 and I think that’s being generous to the Blues.
If Thomas is 100% to start then I’m going Blues in 7.
Last game of season Kyrou scored 2 goals, Schenn ended his goal drought. Buch scored and has been scoring. Bolduc has been hot and Snuggy got his goal out of the way. Both PP’s look dangerous. Broberg and Parayko are well rested.
The team only played 2 games over a 6 day period and then had 4 more off before the playoffs started.

As I said in another thread, Sunny looked almost lithe and youthful at times last game and Neighbours looks extra frisky.
Snuggerud and the Third line are the question marks. Snuggerud can, possibly, cover for Holloway. His physical play will be tested severely. If he holds up and complements Kyrou....if the Third line can hold the fort and chip in the occasional tally.... if Binner smells the Cup and if the boys protect him... if the Special teams are special....
Blues in six.
Re: Winnepeg - Blues Prediction Thread
If the Blues play their game- good forecheck, short passes, traffic in front, finishing checks 5 guys around the puck in all 3 zones it's Blues in 6. If they don't they get blown out in 5.

Jets are without Ehlers and it doesn't appear they're getting him back anytime soon either.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑17 Apr 2025 11:12 amI came to essentially say exactly this.
The Blues will be a tough out but I have to give the edge to the Jets in this one unfortunately. Holloway is a big loss.
Re: Winnepeg - Blues Prediction Thread
If game one is close and the the Jets don't dominate the press will be all over the them. The noose will start tightening early.
There's a reason a lot of guys don't want to play in Canada. It's fishbowl - especially in Montreal and Toronto.

I didn't expect the Blues to beat Winnipeg in 2019, I don't expect them to prevail now. I do believe they have a chance.
