Blues have to beat the "best" teams in the playoffs to advance.

Vegas has lots of recent success including a cup. They know what it takes and they can do it.
Winnipeg has been perennial chokers and you know that will be in the backs of their minds come playoff time.


That said, I will take Binnington and the hot team over either and further into the playoffs.

Not going to take anything away from the accomplishment since it’s still the hardest trophy to win, but we had a lot break right for us in ‘19. A loaded Tampa team got bounced by the Jackets, memory fails me but something happened in the Vegas/Sharks series. I think to win again we’re really going to have to earn it, doubly so is all I mean. The path we have if we just made Conf Finals I’d throw a parade

Helleybuck choking in the playoffs is totally overblown. The teams that got into the playoffs the last couple years were not very good teams. You could argue it was below average play for him, but choking just seems misleading. And previous to last 2 seasons he has a .922 .913 .904 .931 save percentage in his playoff career.

After winning the first game against the Avs the Jets lost the final by a combined score of 22-8.

Helleybuck went- 1-4 with a .864

I watched a couple of those games, and he gave up a lot of softies.

When I think about Helleybuck I always think of game 1 and 2 in 2019. The Blues just took the lead and Winnipeg is trying to tie and with 20 seconds left Binner makes this save:

You can take ANY SC run and find lots of breaks that go each way for all teams. More of that stuff will happen this year too.

True. They did get some help there. Boston was no joke though. Would TB have been tougher? Maybe. It did take 7.

I think Boston whining about the call that led to a Blues goal was a big one. If they all didnt stop playing the game to whine about the non-call maybe Perron doesn't score there. Who knows.
