Mizzou can kiss Cantwell bye!!!

Post by TheMajicMan »

The top player in Missouri and a #Mizzou legacy released his top four schools on Monday. The home school didn't make the cut.

Cantwell moved on. Drinkwitz has one motive in mind. What is best for the TEAM. And winning a playoff berth every year if he can. This is a Money Grab and Drink is not going to play that game. NO ONE PLAYER is bigger than the team. NO ONE PLAYER is NOT replaceable. At best for Cantwell he is gone in 3 years. What matters is what takes place on the field. And if they go 10-2 or better this year, and make a playoff. NO ONE WILL CARE. Cantwell will not be the end of Drinkwitz but Drinkwitz will have even more Cache and Moolah to spend on next years class of Transfers. The Better question is How much did you pony up to keep Cantwell in Columbia. My guess is not even a cup of Starbucks

A. A lot can happen between now and signing day
B. A lot can happen between now and his sophomore season when he’ll likely be useful.

Good points. But lets remember. Some team is not going to pay a Freshmen Left Tackle several Million a year to sit on the bench. They expect him to start

Not impossible, but shouldn't be expected that he'd be a starter for Georgia, OSU, or Oregon, especially at LT. Maybe Miami.

I'm sure the understanding is he'll get every chance to start..if not right away certainly a few games into the season if deemed ready.

That goes for anyone. If they're deemed ready to start, then they'll start. IDK, if Cantwell is the starting LT with Georgia, OSU, or Oregon in 2026, then I'll eat some humble pie.

Yeah I just figure with the dollars they are throwing around in his situation it was pretty much a given he'd play right away.

Missouri can't be in the business of chasing these guys and getting into bidding wars.

The program goes on regardless.

It was here before Cantwell and will be here after his playing days are over.

I don't wish the kid ill will, it is just a sign of the times. In another era he may have picked the Tigers. I agree with the folks that believe they got priced out of the race for the kid. Maybe they can get 6 or seven players for the money spent by the team with endless cash supplies. Sadly, it is now pro ball from the get go.

Previously stuff like this bothered me, especially when legacy kids went elsewhere. But now, it really is a money grab. He’s good but I’m sure we’ll be just fine without him.

No one thought much when MU signed Membou a 3 star tackle and he is the top OL in the draft this year. Uneverknow how kids career goes. Cantwell is a great athlete and OL for sure but meh, he was ALWAYS going to highest bidder and that will never be Tigers. So no bigger you play with the ones who WANT to be on your team and you move on.

all those salivating and fixating on him were pitiful and unrealistic. but fanboys who don't understand modern game can do that if they want.

MU has a lot of Ol who can play and be competitive. Go MU FB and Coach Eli!

Now that kids have agents advising them insane things like Nico's asking $4MM. I want to date Jennifer Anniston and THAT isn't happening either. Josh did the right thing as with their alumni he could have gotten the money but what does that do for rest of team. first thing Nico did was call OR who he thought would jump at him and they said Hell No. Now where does he go? already after a mediocre first year and with the Perfect coach for him? He will land somewhere hopefully humbled.

Lessons Learned are like Bridges Burned. Drink learned and was burned last year on a 5 star in Nwaneri that bolted after 1 year on the practice squad. He wont make the same mistake twice. Besides Cantwell could bolt as well and be homesick after he picks a school and turns out not to be a starter in 1year one just like Nwaneri and come back to the Zoo

Everybody is just so nice about this whole thing. Just think if this was GATES that missed out on one of the best players in the country from your own state the Mizzou fans would treat him worst than they do now.

MU is interested in performance first, potential later. The freshman hype train is way out of control. Go to the ACC - it's so much easier than the SEC and you can learn on the job.
