And I couldn't agree more. He's running away with the team worst -9 and Tucker's putting up more GPG and just about as manyy assists per game.
This Faulkness must end!

No. We don't have anyone on the right side good enough to take his spot, and it's as simple as that.

I don't recall anytime a team in any league benching a player because of fan complaints. Not a Faulk fan myself, but unless he is injured, he won't be coming out of the lineup.

Schenn was minus a lot to start the year. -22 last year. -27 the year before.
Joseph is -6 in 59 games
Sunny -6 in 66 games
Neighbors -1
So no … Faulk is not running away with it.

The discussion is likely going to be between Tucker and Suter and right now, I think Tucker is better than Suter. For all the hate Faulk gets, Suter gets a pass and he has had as many issues as Faulk recently with fewer mins, IMO. For a veteran he sure has been caught out of position a lot recently. And he struggles to clear pucks. I’d play Leddy on his offside and let Tucker be the LD on the 3rd pairing.
Then again I can see them going with 7 D, since the 3rd line isn’t getting many mins and scratching Joseph.

I'd say it's by FAR the other way around. No one wants Faulk to play like garbage and make idiotic mistakes every game. Yet he does. Myself and every other Blues fan would love to see the Faulk of a few years ago, but when it's reached the point that local DJs--whom are typically very neutral regarding individual players--are advocating for him to sit, it's fair to say it's getting noticed and reached a point of ubiquity.
A whipping boy is a player who gets undeserved critique. Faulk is EARNING every bit of this and hurting the team on a nightly basis.

I have to agree Suter has not looked good lately either. Especially the way he got walked on what I believe was Seattle's first goal.2forDiving wrote: ↑14 Apr 2025 13:04 pm The discussion is likely going to be between Tucker and Suter and right now, I think Tucker is better than Suter. He’s been getting walked regularly, it just doesn’t always end up in our net. I don’t know if he was beat on the 1st goal, but he was on the 3rd one. The guy got past him and threw it to the front of the net and it deflected in off a skate.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑14 Apr 2025 13:10 pmI have to agree Suter has not looked good lately either. Tucker is light years from where he’s been in the past, and I’m encouraged for the future, but he is still very slow and speedy forwards blow by him like he’s standing still. If everyone is available, he’s the one that sits

Faulk was getting the most ice time on the team while Parayko was out. Even the last game with Parayko back, Faulk was #2 in TOI. Get him back to about #4 in TOI and I bet he’d be fine. He’s being overexposed.
The fact remains he’s our 2nd best RD and he was acting as our all situations RD when Parayko was out. I wouldn’t sit him. But I’d play Parayko, Fowler and Broberg more. Lean on Leddy too. He’s capable.

Re: If Broberg's back tomorrow, 101ESPN & text line advocating Faulk to sit
this is the answer. Faulk is doing more on defense than he ever has in any point in his career minus maybe the +40 year where he was legit on both ends. But where Faulks play has regressed has been offensively. He has more TOI than ever, and his +- is being reflected negatively because he's not putting up the points he himself contributes to regularly. If he was more productive in the offensive zone, his +- would be in a better spot. But it's career lows offensively, while having to take career high TOI. It's not hard to see where the difference is coming. He's being asked to do something he doesn't normally do.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑14 Apr 2025 13:18 pm Faulk was getting the most ice time on the team while Parayko was out. People can keep crying about it, But you aren't going to bench the guy that had been leading your team in TOI for the last 4 weeks and had multiple 25+ minute games for a guy that averages 14. I'll give Tucker this, he is earning more TOI than at any point in his career.

Per Korac, Broberg will play tomorrow.
Does this mean our defense is finally 100%?

I don't know what the answer is. He's never met a shot he won't take which 80% of the time ends the time in the O zone. And his play on the power play got him demoted him to second string. Now with Parayko back hopefully the PP is he and Fowler moving forward.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑14 Apr 2025 13:44 pm But where Faulks play has regressed has been offensively. Honestly I'd just be happy with him being defensively responsible player on the 3rd pair.

Suter is the one who needs to sit. He's been terrible all year. I fail to see the fascination with him.
Re: If Broberg's back tomorrow, 101ESPN & text line advocating Faulk to sit
My main complaint with Faulk lies with what I perceive to be a lack of focus.
I get hockey mistakes are going to happen but there's been a added frequency of routine stuff going wrong that turns into danger.
I would not think he'd call this one of his better years of his career.
I'll go with Monty on this but I do wonder if he gave Tucker consideration.

Re: If Broberg's back tomorrow, 101ESPN & text line advocating Faulk to sit
not wrong. I'd love for Faulk to be a 2nd/3rd pair depending on where's his level of play. He's a 2nd pairing guy, his best season was when him and krug could light up the scoreboard. but broberg isn't necessarily that guy today. He's a great skater but we haven't seen a shot threat out of him or some crazy dynamic passer. Our points have been coming from Fowler and Parayko. if Broberg gets over 30 with a point tomorrow he's our 4th guy to do it on D.TBone wrote: ↑14 Apr 2025 14:16 pmI don't know what the answer is. It's also funny someone mentioned Tucker scoring more goals per game than Faulk but not highlighting that the assist difference is massive. Obviously there's TOI stuff there, but Tucker is at 18% point percentage and Faulk is at 41%. Not really comparable.
