It wipes out businesses in the area… hotels, restaurants, gig workers like Uber drivers. The effects of ownership apathy are far reaching. Went to St Louis once last year and the deterioration around the ballpark was striking.Kentucky kid wrote: ↑10 Apr 2025 21:39 pm Lower attendence Lower food and drink sales and tips. Its always the little people who take the hit when companies just like the cardinals cut back , while they get richer the little people suffer.

So with the lower attendance reducing tops etc. affects thise you mentioned, I Don’ follow your. ‘While they get richer ‘ comment referring to ownership.Kentucky kid wrote: ↑10 Apr 2025 21:39 pm Lower attendence Lower food and drink sales and tips. Its always the little people who take the hit when companies just like the cardinals cut back , while they get richer the little people suffer.
Makes no logic that owners get richer with declining food drink etc. as team gets cut on all concessions

The owners still pocket the rich TV rights and advertising bucks, and the franchise continues to appreciate in market value, making them billionaires if they sell.
Keep on mind Forbes has consistently priced the Toronto Maple Leafs as the most valuable franchise in the NHL (about $4 billion). The Leafs' last Sranley Cup was back when there were only six teams: 1966-67.

You’re not kidding! Saw some videos last season of local businesses, restaurants, t shirt vendors etc etc crying the blues pretty harshly. Many expressed serious concern as to how much longer they could hang on if crowds do not return enmasse.
