Barely. Thought Oli was gonna lose it after the Walker and Donovan at bats.

And hopefully Oli learned something for once??
Don’t don’t don’t use your ONLY backup infielder as the DH!

I’ll probably have an early cocktail tomorrow before Miles starts???? LOL
‘A’ cocktail with Mikolas … At least 2 with him starting

I love me some Pallante. Pitches like he's got brass ones.

That final line of his today is going to get me misty eyed for the Dave Duncan years. That's a Duncan-type SP performance if I ever saw one.

Sure like to be privy to Brant Brown strategy tonight.
He knew with Nola in the mound highly unlikely offense would get their half dozen runs..
He was able to scratch out a couple fir the win.

Looks like they were working the count against him. He only went 5, and walked a fair bit of guys.

I think he found out he’s got another backup SS. Saggese was very good
That’s a fact!
The kid came through and Pages did his job and fortunately was not severely tested!
Dodged a bullet!
Great win!

Don’t want to hit the sauce TOO early.
One to start the game and then more to follow!

Granddaughter's choir did just fine before the game. A pitchers' duel which I love. Unfortunately, I was the only one who wanted to stay, but the wife and the rest of the family was ready to go home.

Still, I was at the Park and had a ball.

Sounds like a great game. This is the first one I have missed this year. (Funeral and gathering afterwards.) Great win. I hope that the injury to Winn is not serious. I haven't had a chance to read any of the post-game stuff.

Looks like he'll miss a game or two, but won't need IL time.

Yes, excellent comment ! With an ace type pitcher on the mound , a team usually goes either all aggressive ( telling their guys to swing at a lot of first pitches since they often throw fastballs to get ahead early in the count OR wait them out and hoping the pitcher will work the corners and if you take some close ones for 'balls' that you run up his pitch count and get him out an inning sooner in the game. As you thought, Brant may have employed the latter strategy tonight . Makes sense in that his overall philosophy preached a lot of patience at the plate. Only going after the pitch you want to hit not the pitch Nola wants you to swing at.

I'll take the win and congrats to Pallante...

But...

9 hits and 5 BB only produces 2 runs? Not good.
We need more XBHs. I love doubles. Would like to see more of them.
