4pm on ESPN2 for those that can’t make it in person - Denver vs Western Michigan. Rematch of the NCHC title game that WM won in Double-OT. I say Denver takes this one.

Then it’s Boston U vs Penn State at 7:30. Also on ESPN2. Penn St. is the Cinderella here. Finished 5th in the Big 10 (only 7 teams in the conference total) and they were the last at-large bid to make the tourney yet they pulled off 2 upsets to make the Frozen Four. I’d bet on Boston U here but in a 1 game winner take all environment, you just never know.

Western Michigan has absolutely dominated thru 2 periods, though it’s only 2-0 at this point. But they look great and incredibly fast, so unless DU comes up with a lot of puck luck, I don’t see Western Michigan losing this one.

Complete reversal in the 3rd…..DU got a lucky bounce, scored to make it 2-1, and now they are dominating the game. Great hockey…..7 minutes left, with Western Michigan trying to hang on

Turned it on when I got home from work. Denver down 2-0 in 2nd with only 7 SOG. Switched to some music while doing stuff around the apartment. Turn it back on, and it's in OT.

Wow.

Jackie, the hockey was incredible, unfathomable, and indescribable.

DU was caved in the first 2 periods but then turned the tide. Buium tipped that puck right to the WMU player for the double-OT goal. Oh well. He’ll probably get over it in a day or two when he signs with the Wild.

BU-Penn St game just started. About an hour and a half later than it was supposed to.

That comment was salacious, egregious, outstanding.

I know his rankings are all over the place but McKenzie has Boumedienne right in the range the Blues will likely be picking. He looks better every time I see him play

Two-hour drive home after double OT in the first game made for a killer late night. Couple of observations.

WMU is young and will be force going forward. Buium hurt on that leg jammed into the boards. Was not the same afterward. Davis arguably the best undrafted goalie available, but is vulnerable high glove. Alex Bump dictates every shift. Flyers might have a bargain at #133.

Penn State on adrenaline for two periods. BU patient and smart. Cole Eiserman every bit the 1st rounder the Islanders drafted.

Headed back to STL tomorrow for the championship. Looking forward to it.

Thank God we didn't waste all that draft capital to move up and draft him. It's probably a knee, and you know young guys with knee issues are NEVER the same.

I lost steam and didn’t even watch the end of the 3rd of the Penn St-BU game. That drive home had to be rough! Hopefully you didn’t have to work today.

Agree Buium looked like he lost some steam. He coughed up the puck in double-OT right to a WMU player on the winning goal. Not sure it was because of that hit though. He was clearly gassed. Played 51 minutes. 64% of the game. That’s simply insane.

Agree Alex Bump is a quality player. Good late round find for the Flyers. Perhaps someone gives Davis a prospects camp invite and he can catch on somewhere.
