Gotta think we are rooting for Minnesota in regulation tomorrow night, right ?
If the blues took care of the oilers I would have been rooting for Calgary. At this point we need to lock up a spot

The only way I'd root for Calgary would be if there were 0 other options and we needed their win to secure a spot.ZouMiz2424 wrote: ↑10 Apr 2025 22:01 pm If the blues took care of the oilers I would have been rooting for Calgary. At this point we need to lock up a spot
It's fitting that the son of Lucifer signed with the Flames, as they are clearly involved in some dark magic with how many games they've forced into OT.
As I said in another thread, Jobu must defeat Satan in this battle so the forces of good triumph over Kadri and evil.

Yes.

Can’t be looking for best match-ups at this point…have to get into the dance first and foremost…so whatever leads to that happening is what you route for and live with it.

I'm hoping for the Wild. Just want to see the Blues make the playoffs. Plus I can't hope for a team that Kadri is on.

If Calgary loses in regulation the magic number is 1
If they lose in OT it's 2 and Blues just need 1 win out of their last two.
Calgary losing is the easiest path
If Calgary wins - in OT - the magic number is 3 because Blues would 100% have the tiebreaker
It's still 4 if they win in regulation.

I think anyone who is rooting for Calgary to beat Minnesota tonight is insane. Let's just get to the dance first before we worry about matchups. Plus you are really splitting hairs if you start game-theorying whether or not Vegas or Winnipeg is a better matchup...they are both going to be a REALLY hard series to win, it doesn't really matter IMO.
I know that the conventional wisdom you hear on 101espn or whatever is "well, there's more pressure on Winnipeg, Hellebuyck has never been a big game winner so there's so much pressure on him, so that's probably the matchup we want", but I think you can throw a lot of that conventional wisdom out the window once the playoffs actually start. Maybe this is the year that Hellebuyck locks in, who knows. Let's just vanquish the annoyingly persistent Flames first and then worry about it...

like some posters have said, the team just needs to get in. And getting in at the fastest timeline for this group that is now banged up is the most ideal. If it was possible for us to clinch on saturday night, it's the most ideal scenario because there's a theoretical chance that our first game wont be until next sunday because of scheduling conflicts. Supposed to start playoffs on saturday, but apparently both vegas and winnipeg had previously scheduled stuff (taking that from 101). IF we get in, and clinch Saturday, they get a week to tighten up their game and get rested. It's going to take some heroics to get out of the 1st round. The team has a better shot at winning a 2nd round matchup than they do a 1st round so it doesn't matter if its Winnipeg or Vegas.

Another big reason to wrap asap is to ease my anxiety.

The answer is YES to the Thread question.
One day at a time...with a must win on Saturday. It would be nice to not have a must win game on Tuesday. It has to be in our hands and not fumbled.

The only reason to want the Pacific is because it likely is the easier path to the WCF.
If you are in the Central, that path is Winnipeg and then Col/Dal.
That being said, just get in and see where the road takes us.

If I knew we were going to beat Seattle and Utah then yeah you’d want Calgary to win, unfortunately we don’t have that knowledge.
Like I said earlier, just no OT either way

I want the Pacific because I want the Oilers. Especially after that game. If we lose tonight, we deserve not to make the playoffs. You can't lose 3 in a row after 12 straight. New streak starts tonight! LGB!!!!!TheJackBurton wrote: ↑11 Apr 2025 11:41 am The only reason to want the Pacific is because it likely is the easier path to the WCF.

Pulling for Calgary. Would rather play Vegas then Peg. Blues need to win next game.
