I like Gates but what is going on

Pierce could be a star and IMO TO and the columbia kid will make a better point guard tandem. Perkins was all big 10 but was more a combo than a point, same with ant who wasn't a great distributor but has a solid shooting touch and really good mid range and floater. will be much more of a scorer next year. TO us not only a really good ballhandler and distributor but really good as defender. when he came in at end of FL victory he really took the great all American pt guard totally out of his game.

Boating was the star of last years class and they see him everyday so if gets in combo/wing rotation could be offensive star they need. Do they still need a shooter who can fill it up there? Heck yeah, can't have too many.

As far as the MO kid from OU he had two really solid games against AZ and TX where he scored and rebounded well. Gates is putting a lot of his career on the bet he can get much improved play out of him and Javon. Only time will tell if that works. One good thing is both were cheap and could keep his powder dry for a real star addition. They really need to whip marshall in shape as he was still FAT at end of season which was disappointing and couldn't beat out a guy who couldn't make a layup. That's what I'm hoping but who knows if it happens. Rooting for Gates and tigers but my and many expectations are way way down now.

The only thing I disagree with you about is saying Gates is betting he can get much improved play out of Northweather and Porter. There are no expectations at all for Northweather. He's a bench piece, didn't cost anything but a scholarship (of which they have plenty). If they get anything out of him it will be gravy. Porter came with a small price tag, too. It's a gamble whether he can improve enough to be a consistent performer, but the team success doesn't depend upon it. I have to keep saying this...it's still early. They still have money available to fill their needs if the right player comes along in the portal. They didn't pick these guys up because they were pressing needs, they were just filling the bench with the hope they can get something out of them. Mack was filling a need at a reasonable price tag.

They still need a shooting guard, somebody who shoots 40% or better from three. And they still need a big man. But the choices in the portal are limited and the price tags are huge. Mizzou is simply out of the running for the top shooting guards and big men because they don't have the cash. So they are hoping there's an influx of decent to good choices now that the dead period is ending, and that will make the price go down a bit. But EVERYBODY wants a good big man and a good shooting guard. Good big men are especially scarce and quickly snapped up by the programs who have the money. It could very well be that Mizzou settles for a big that's in the same class as Gray was and works to develop Marshall (and maybe Burns).

Because it is a money game like everything else. See the ad that pops up at the top of every post. The more people on the forum posting the more they can sell those spaces for. People like Lacarucha don’t have a life and just post, post, post…. The PD loves these guys so they ensure that even though they are banned their is a simple road to get back into the fray.
