So Nurse tripping/slashing from behind on breakaway is OK
Right before the winning goal. Good to know for playoffs.

Looked on the replay like he might have got his stick on the puck but yeah we've seen that called.

Monty called the refs out about it right after the goal. The refs were terrible. It's advesity. It sucks. Now lets get ready for Seattle on Saturday. Maybe well have Parayko back and they can break down film and work on some things at practice on Friday.

Such a horsesh#% noncall. Seen more fair refs in the WWE

Yeah, total [nonsense], but somehow I wasn't even surprised. The commentators acted like it didn't even happen.

It's beyond time if he's anywhere close to ready.hockey jedi wrote: ↑10 Apr 2025 00:08 am Maybe well have Parayko back and they can break down film and work on some things at practice on Friday.
Without Holloway 3-2 or 2-1 games with strangling defense is the Blues recipe for success, especially if Winnipeg is the draw.

I don’t like blaming the refs but geez walker got called for the same freaking type of play two minutes earlier. I’d argue this was worse bc it was at least a partial breakaway. No idea how that wasn’t called. Makes zero sense other than it’s the NHl.

Yep. Neither of the calls on Walker or McDavid can be made if you are going to let that last one go. It was a case of a ref “not wanting to decide the game” deciding the game. It gave Edmonton numbers the other way.George Zipp wrote: ↑10 Apr 2025 08:33 am I don’t like blaming the refs but geez walker got called for the same freaking type of play two minutes earlier. Then again the Blues never should have been in that position. I thought the Blues’ bench decisions last night were awful. Basically rolling out one scoring line, two checking lines and then the Sunny line was used sporadically and often times had Walker in place of Bolduc and/or Snuggerud, which made that another checking line.

The refs weren’t good last night but I could see that Walker/Nurse call going either way. It’s the type of play that typically gets called but I don’t actually see a trip.
The Blues were also beneficiaries from the refs. The Blues committed 2 clear penalties before the Suter goal that went uncalled. Tucker punched a guy in the back of the head on the faceoff and Thomas clearly interfered with Skinner which made it a 2 on 1 instead of 2 on 2.
To me, the bigger story last night and rhe main reason the Blues lost was sloppy D coverage. And not just from the d-men. The forwards were bad at coverage too.

NHL wants its golden boy McDavid in the playoffs. The thing that irritates the sh*t out of me is last year, we beat Edmonton in all but 1 game if I'm not mistaken, this year we've lost by 1 goal every time. I f'n hate McDavid and how much time and space the Blues give him.

I don't think it's by choice. He is just that much better of a skater than everyone else on the ice.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑10 Apr 2025 09:10 am NHL wants its golden boy McDavid in the playoffs. I had the sound down because the wife was asleep and couldn't hear the announcers, but I figured there'd have been more replay video if a call would have been on the table. What a terrible non-call. Oh well, the boys need to pick up some points against the krackheads and the generic team.

I was listening to the Edmonton feed and the announcers didn't even mention the possibility of that being a tripping call. I found it kind of funny. I don't see how that is not a penalty.BrummerStealsHome wrote: ↑10 Apr 2025 09:29 am I had the sound down because the wife was asleep and couldn't hear the announcers, but I figured there'd have been more replay video if a call would have been on the table. The call was bad because that rule has been highlighted like the stick to the hands rule. It's not a slash every time that happens but they are calling it all the time now. You are supposed to be able to get stick on puck and then the trip can happen. But similar to soccer, you aren't supposed to be allowed to do that from behind anymore because it's dangerous. So if that ref deems that he caught walker from behind, it should be called because it's an injury prevention call/play. If he thinks the defender was next to him then I guess it cane be legal.
regardless. they have to call that play in that moment. the ref went to blow the whistle and swallowed it. he knew it, the oil knew it. everyone knew it. The Blues got away with one in the first tho for the suter goal. it's why the back and forth make up calls are stupid. the game is vastly different in the last minute than it was at 0-0. the refs were pretty garbage. Perry kicking binner and not realizing he has death blades on his feet was one of the more ridiculous things I had seen in a while. You skated up to a goalies face and hit him when he was on the ground. You could have messed that stop up and killed the dude.
