Seems to me most people think Binnington was justified and consider Perry the dirty player. I think the league needs to crack down on the running of goaltenders. Suspensions should be considered when it is clearly intentional.

Lundqvist said it best. Because it was Perry, it was clearly intentional. And Lundqvist would have started hammering him with sticks to the ankles the rest of the game. But he wouldn't have taken a penalty like Binner did. But he defended Binner. It was a dirty play. I think the issue with the play is how dangerous it was. Look at any of the interactions in the comments on youtube for the videos posted. Nearly everyone is siding with Binner. That never happens. Only Oily fans and Avs fans saw it a different way and even then, I'd say half of them didn't agree with it. Think of it this way. Perry does anything there and slips, he had the potential to freaking kill Binner. A skate to the neck and we are talking about one of the worst plays in hockey history. There is no place for that and Binners reaction is 100 percent justified. You can't just skate into a downed goalie like that.

But that wasn't the play that shook up Binner, it was later with that collision. And even then he seemed fine. The 2 goals that started behind the net barely trickled in, Binner makes that save a decent amount of times. But nothing too alarming yet. The more alarming thing is if we are going to have to start him the next 2 games just to attempt to get into the playoffs. The boys need a rest game and they aren't getting it now.

Just looking at the replay of that goal, and it looks to me that Brown fanned on the shot. You can tell by how Binners pads are starting to close ... then he has to open up. That's a pretty good indication the puck came off the stick as a change up.
