Apparently he's in a lawsuit seeking to either play another year to make more money, or get compensated for the years he played without being paid--or something like that. His first year was the Covid year, which didn't count, but he's played now for four years since and is out of eligibility unless a court decides otherwise. So he entered the portal just in case he won the lawsuit.
