Funny that Pops got so much heat in that game when the short fly ball was hit to RF and Donovan was NOT sent in that one.

Sure Pops heard a lot on that .. so sure enough he was going to send him now .
He was waving Siani immediately .

One thing about Pops.. (maybe it's because he is old and less mobile he is making that call still standing by the bag.

Good 3rd base coaches on that play go about 20 feet down the line toward home plate waving the player. Then from that position, if he sees that the runner had not touched 3rd base yet as the ball is being fielded by the OF (the rule of thunb is YOU GIVE STOP SIGN.
The runner can round third and be 10to 15 feet toward home and still have his coach in eyesight to see him hold up STOP !
Where Pops is that is NOT possible. Pops is out of position.

I am taping the game and did rewind .. Go look at it and side view of PHam's throw coming in shows POPS standing right next to the 3rd base umpire in actually a couple feet to OF side of 3rd base bag. There is no excuse for that . He may have been good in his younger years and maybe could run down the line but he is not doing what is necessary . He should be replaced . A sharp coach stops Siani 20 feet down the line.

Oli has no idea what a sac bunt is w/the bottom of his order, can't hurt Winn's feelings asking him to sacrifice there.
