Shortest distance between two points is a straight line, Saggesse should've just dove over the pile up and he'd have been safe instead of stutter stepping and arcing around them.

As I watched it , a better move than diving over them (the plate was pretty far for the dive to land him on the plate ) I thought he should
have hurdled right over the two guys who were still laying on top of each other . (Been like a low hurdle jump in 2 feet maybe ?)
and then he runs a step or two and dives between the umps legs who was straddling home plate at that time. SAFE !

if you are going to run around the pile, at least go around on the foul side of the players and NOT in the field of play where the other defenders are standing.
