Report on JJ at Springfield AA ?
Unverified reports say when he broke Spring Training camp that Willson Contreras gave him an outline of conditioning, batting tips , and other things that WillyCon uses daily.
Apparently , JJ has religiously followed the WCon program for in 3 games thus far ..JJ is 0 for 10 with no walks and 4 strikeouts.
Rumors have it that Brant Brown called JJ and asked , ' What the H are you doing ? JJ replied, 'Not much, Coach !

Don’t know how he did on the backfields, but dating back to Spring training he’s 0 for his last 27 in games that we can actually see.
Went 2 for 3 in that first game in spring training when people wanted him to skip right to the MLB and then finished spring 0 for 17.

It's only a couple of games, so not a big deal... but I thought AA was an aggressive placement.

Even AA is mildly aggressive.
An Old Friend wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 20:35 pm I just disagree with the placement. Let him go rake at high-A for a minute to prove he’s ready. It hurts nothing.

Both Wetherholt and Saggese are 22. Let's hope Wetherholt can get to Saggese's level as a hitter, professionally, by the time both are 23.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑08 Apr 2025 13:39 pm Don’t know how he did on the backfields, but dating back to Spring training he’s 0 for his last 27 in games that we can actually see.

This is Wetherholt's age-22 season, Saggese age-23.Shady wrote: ↑08 Apr 2025 13:44 pmBoth Wetherholt and Saggese are 22. Saggese turns 23 in 2 days, thus will spend almost all of 2025 as a 23 year old
Wetherholt turns 23 in September, thus will spend almost all of 2025 as a 22 year old

Your ignorance on nearly every baseball matter is astounding.Shady wrote: ↑08 Apr 2025 14:03 pmPlease explain. An Old Friend wrote: ↑08 Apr 2025 13:46 pmThis is Wetherholt's age-22 season, Saggese age-23.Shady wrote: ↑08 Apr 2025 13:44 pmBoth Wetherholt and Saggese are 22. But...allow me to try and educate you once again.
A player's age in any given season is based upon how old they are on June 30th. Saggese turns 23 in two days and therefore, this is his age 23 season.
JJ turns 23 on September 10th, therefore this is his age 22 season.
With that said, their perspective ages are largely irrelevant. Wetherholt is the better prospect for a variety of reasons. Doesn't mean he will be the better player, but scouts like his ceiling much more than Saggesse's. Let's hope they both become great hitters.
Re: Report on JJ at Springfield AA ?
I was born on Jan3rd .. my 1st cousin was born Dec . 30th 4 days prior.
She was born 1947 and 1948 for me. So 4 days difference in age but relatives always thought she was full year older than me for born the year prior.
I used to tease her about being a year older than me!

Re: Report on JJ at Springfield AA ?
So Cards have already ruined another prospect? Is that the message?

OK, brilliant one. Now "educate" us, once again, on how great Contreras is. Amazingly some on CT wanted him to come up to St Louis.
