You'll never convnice the Faulk apologists who think he's the greatest thing sliceable bagels. TBS, Buch's dumb[ash] attempt to put the puck up the middle where there was about 7 players within a 5x5 section of ice... stoooopid.
I don't think there are Faulk apologists, there are just many who don't believe he is the worst defenseman the league has seen in its 100 years.

Starting a thread after every goal that is scored while he is on the ice, quite frankly serves what purpose exactly?
It's like all the hate on Brewer - if we had a better option to put on the ice, they'd be out there. Faulk is what he is, an offensive defenseman who needs to be sheltered, can't be when Parayko is injured, and wasn't scoring much until the break.

Parayko can't get back soon enough. The win streak was showing obvious cracks even before last night (ie the last time we discussed Faulk being out there in the last minute). We all knew this could likely happen. Pointing out that it did does nothing to help the team or elevate the discourse.

He has been overly solid for the most part during these past 5 weeks, but yes when taking on some of the best in the league there is very likely going to be defensive breakdowns.

Exactly. He's playing like a perfect #3 right now. I just hope he can keep contributing offense once Parayko is back.

Thinking I may paste this great post from Army' Mom every time there's a Faulk thread.

Faulk is playing much tougher minutes than before, and excelling in them actually. The eye-test suffers from confirmation bias, the advanced stats don't lie. Sure, he's a team worst +/-, but that's because he's facing tougher minutes.

Since the break, he has 13 pts.

On the season, he's 7th leaguewide in fewest GA per 60 minutes at 5v5 at 1.76 (Broberg leads the league).

1 Philip Broberg 1.34
2 Mikey Anderson 1.47
3 Jonas Siegenthaler1.56
4 Drew Doughty 1.68
5 Brayden McNabb 1.71
6 Erik Cernak 1.72
7 Justin Faulk 1.76
8 Vladislav Gavrikov 1.76
9 Chris Tanev 1.82
10 MacKenzie Weegar 1.82

John Kelly said this morning he thinks 55 will play on this road trip. He said he is practicing like someone that’s ready to go.
I kind of think on Saturday I'm going to see these things from sweeeet seats:

– Parayko returns
– Snuggy first NHL goal (I saw MacMac's in LA a few years ago)
– Blues clinch playoffs
– "Green Night" at Climate Pledge Arena, sponsored by Boeing lol

I didn't hear that. That is really great news. Much needed and would be good for him to get some games in before playoffs.

He even said Colton is from the Edmonton area, so maybe …. And then left it at that. Also of note, he did say he has seen the stories about Holloway being worse than originally diagnosed, but said he has not heard that, so he is still going on the week to week time frame until someone tells him differently. I don’t know what to make of that. Is JR getting his news from outside of the Blues?

Yeah Faulk is probably one of the best 2nd pairing guys in the league which would also make him one of the worst top pairing guys.........Its almost like it makes sense.

Its funny how wording changes perspectives so much. "worst top pairing guy" is actually pretty awesome

One or two or three players didn't end a 12 game winning streak. Same as 1,2,3 players didn't cause it.

The criticism of Faulk is greatly hyperbolic.

I’m pretty sure Faulk has tweeted, “Reports of my suckage are greatly exaggerated “.

Only Fowler comes close to passing as sweetly in the O zone as Faulk.
It is strange that Kyrou is taller than he is.
