Sad news. Good Blues goalie in some fun Norris Division years. Remember him taking Penguins to Game 5 sudden death in round 1 the main Liut year too.

Wow…Greg was a genuine as they come, very sad to hear this. My favorite memory of him is not with the Blues but with him playing goal for the Penguins during round one in 1981. What a fantasic series that was and Millen was outstanding.

Awful news. That game 5 was something. He stood on his head until Mike Crombeen came through. Played some yeoman goal for us later.

And he hated leaving St. Louis. Great Blue.

(bleep), Millen was the first Blues goaltender that I can remember back to. I remember his big Areoflex Pads and wanted to be a goaltender from that point on.
Re: Greg Millen Passes Away
Traded for Liut which broke my heart at the time. However, Millen played very well for the Note. RIP

I remember that series, particularly the deciding game 5 on 4/14/81 at the Checkerdome. Millen was in goal for the Penguins, but captured the appreciation of the fans by dancing to the arena music during timeouts. In my mind's eye, I can still see Mike Zuke flying into the corner, torn jersey flying behind him, to scoop the puck back to Mike Crombeen who rammed home the series winner in the 2nd OT.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑07 Apr 2025 19:16 pm Wow…Greg was a genuine as they come, very sad to hear this. He had some of his best years for the Blues in the late 80's, and was a candidate for the Veniza Trophy in '89. RIP

That was one of the most exciting calls on the radio I've ever heard. Millsie was amazing.seattleblue wrote: ↑07 Apr 2025 18:33 pm Sad news. Good Blues goalie in some fun Norris Division years. Remember him taking Penguins to Game 5 sudden death in round 1 the main Liut year too.
