Worst we seen here in any of our lifetimes.

Should be fired the day the Cardinals fall 10 games behind the scrubs. :x
Awful. Wonder why the players like him.

Not sure how you blame Oli for a cluster [fork] of [shirt]ty pitching

I imagine because his employer requires of him no accountability, and he asks the same of his players.

Ha!

Kissing up to your players trying to be "one of the guys" does NOT equal being a good Manager.

Moron needs to be fired mid season if Cards are 10 games back, no later than one second after game 162.

anyone who thinks the current problems with this team is the manager IS AN IDIOT AND HAS NO BASEBALL KNOWLEDGE. the Manager is not pitching nor hitting. we knew this year was a development year for the young players. Nothing will change that and this ream needs the time to find out who can play and who can't. A new manager does not change that.

Oli Marmol is a terrible MLB manager and I am not an idiot.

He is not the only issue with this organization, but he is an issue. He is not good and he is not qualified.

Oh, I get it riff raff. He must have used inappropriate words on a multi-age public forum and an automatic censor changed the words. Is that it?

Maybe some on here should quit blaming everything on Marmol and listen to a future HOF for a change.
I see this post did not last long as it doesn't fit the CT blame party.
Oh well, it is only a future HOF superstar. I'm sure you guys are much more knowledgeable than Albert!!
From his MLB Network quotes:

"Therefore, when he speaks about a team that could win a division title, we should all listen.

St. Louis Cardinal legend Albert Pujols believes the team can win the National League Central in 2025.
While on MLB Network prior to the St. Louis Cardinals' series against the Boston Red Sox, Pujols spoke of his belief in the 2025 version of the Cardinals.

"You have the pieces there. I think (the Cardinals) are going to bounce back this year. I think they have the team to win the (National League) Central and get deeper into the postseason."
Albert Pujols
The National League Central has been notoriously weak these last few years. The last time a team from either Central division won a World Series was in 2015 when the Kansas City Royals took home the championship. Only one team in the Central divisions is in the top half of payrolls in all of baseball: the Chicago Cubs.

Therefore, the National League Central is a very open division. The Cardinals could and should capitalize on this weakness and aim to win the division and reach the playoffs.

Pujols went on to speak glowingly about the club's manager, Oliver Marmol. "You have a great manager, Oli Marmol. Although he's really young, he's a great manager," said Pujols. "(He's a) great communicator with the players, built a great relationship with the players."

Fans have been calling for Marmol to be replaced for years now. In fact, several fans have called for Pujols to replace Marmol as the club's manager. To hear a legend of the game speak highly about not only the manager but also the club as a whole should reassure Cardinal fans that the team and organization are in a good position.

lololol!! What do you expect AP to say?

Also, AP's experience w/ Marmol is drastically different than others. Do you really think that Marmol was going to cross w/ AP? Heck no! He was scared to death of AP. Marmol takes it out on O'Neill, Contreras(when he knew he had Waino on his side), etc.. Marmol can't lead spit to fall. He is a terrible in game manager and a culture killer.

Yes, his experience is different. He knows him and played for him, unlike you and others on here.
By the way, Albert was not asked to make these comments. He volunteered them.

Albert Pujols wants to become manager, so his statements should be looked at through that motivation.

1. By speaking highly of their talent situation, it makes it seem like he's on board with whatever direction they are going
2. By setting the expectations that the Cardinals are good enough to win the division, it sets Marmol up for failure, since they are likely to fail in that endeavor... making a manager spot opening up more likely.
