What genius smilinjoefission managerial decisions would have won this game?
Re: Save This Season, Fire The Marmot NOW
Certainly an option…
You do understand that the new guy will have the same mediocre players?
Re: Save This Season, Fire The Marmot NOW
This team is going nowhere with or without Oli.

Blues had the same players once they fired the incompetent Bannister and got Montgomery...I don;t feel the Cards players are 100% the problem, its the way they are being used, and that's 100% on the marmot

Not Descalso. They need someone outside the organization.

Lol so this is just a pipe dream then. I thought you were at least attempting to be serious.smilinjoefission wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 16:32 pmNot Descalso. They need someone outside the organization.

How sad is it to dream someone outside the losing culture that has infected the Cards be called on to run the show.sdaltons wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 16:33 pmLol so this is just a pipe dream then. You can dream all you want. If Marmol were canned today, the same guy that hired him would hire his replacement. He's only ever hired managers that fit one exact profile. Absolutely no evidence he would suddenly hire the complete opposite.smilinjoefission wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 16:35 pmHow sad is it to dream someone outside the losing culture that has infected the Cards be called on to run the show.sdaltons wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 16:33 pmLol so this is just a pipe dream then. Firing Marmol is not going to happen no matter how bad things could get this year. They need a scapegoat and a whipping boy for the fans and media. They are not going to pay him and another manager this year. If they bring someone else in and things don't go well- you know who gets all of the heat then? Not happening. Once the season is over, all bets are off.

Any other manager in MLB would have either moved Contreras down in the lineup or given him a day or two off to find himself.cardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 16:27 pm What genius smilinjoefission managerial decisions would have won this game?
-Oli basically cost us the season in 23 when he refused to move the .150 avg/.500 OPS WIlly Long Con out of the cleanup spot and the team dug an insurmountable hole in April/May.
-Oli DID cost us the season in 22 when he pulled Quintana after 74 pitches and put a closer who jammed a finger on his throwing 3-days before in for 2 innings.
-Oli is once again being the stubborn sack of sh*t refusing to move Contreras again. My bad, he did move him Game 1, though, from the 2-spot to the 3!
I've never despised a manager more in my life. He has done nothing but lose, lose, lose his entire managing career.
