6 Games today....
I'm going to watch Showalter's start for a few innings....but I'm not going to update this until later tonight.
Going to relax with the family this afternoon.

FYI ~ Zack Showalter isn't the starter or Peoria today. Milb App had it wrong. Jose Davila is your Sunday starter

Re: Minor League Updates (4/6) ~ Cards System
Both games of the Memphis Double Header have been cancelled due to standing water/and persistent rain

Cade McGee hit a walk-off 2-run homer with 2 out in the bottom of the 9th. Palm Beach scores 4 in the 9th to win 11-10.

Rajcic throws 5 IP allowing only one hit and one walk with 4 strikeouts and 9 ground outs.
Love and Ralston finish it off with a scoreless inning each. They combined for 5 walks to make it more interesting.
Springfield wins 5-0.

Riddle me this...
The Peoria starter (Jose Davila) walked his first batter, walked his 2nd batter, struck out his 3rd batter, and walked his 4th batter.
The 3rd walk occurred in the 2nd inning.
How does this happen? Two runners caught stealing in the 1st! Aggressive baserunning works both for and against you!

Starter Zane Mills gets toasted for 6 runs in 1.2 IP in game two for Springfield. They will have to dig out of a 6-0 hole.
Re: Minor League Updates (4/6) ~ Cards System
He didn't start, but Zack Showalter gave 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K ....kept his team in the game. Exited after the 8th

Davila ends up going 4.2 IP giving up 2 runs throwing 80 pitches.cardstatman wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 15:32 pm Riddle me this...

The runs were in the 3rd inning due to a walk, triple, ground out sequence. One hit, two runs.
Showalter then entered the game and pitched 4.0 IP, giving up 0 runs on 1 hit with 6 strikeouts and no walks.
He was pulled with 2 out, nobody on in the top of ninth of a 2-2 game so I assume he reached his pitch limit at 65 pitches.
D.J. Carpenter entered the game and walked his first two batters before getting the last out setting up Peoria for a walkoff win in the 9th or extra innings.

Peoria does not "walk it off" in the bottom of the 9th.
D.J. Carpenter holds Quad Cities hitless in the top of the 10th but cleverly manages to give up 2 runs.
Peoria down 4-2 going into the bottom of the 10th.
