Bolduc for Rookie of the Year
I know he doesn't play on the east or west coast where the media is in abundance. I know he doesn't have the pedigree of being a top 5 draft pick like Celebrini or Michkov. But if he scores two more goals at least, you have to say he's had the most complete season of those three. He's a +20 while the other two are -31 and -13.

I agree, doubtful he wins it. But, I think he's gone from gathering the stray vote to getting serious consideration, which says a lot in itself.

Don't care, really.
This dude is turning into a force right in front of our eyes. Another dimension we didn't have. That slot player that snipes at will. Turns our PP into another headache for the other team. Hits too. Enjoy the progression.
Ignore the awards.

Agree, lethal shot and really has a complete game-he has grown exponentially since last season.

Ovechkin didn't win the Calder either.John Cocktoastin wrote: ↑05 Apr 2025 21:49 pm Don't care, really.

He should be considered but won't. Had he started the season the way he has been playing he might be considered. Its impressive that he is only averaging just under 13 minutes per game.

With more opportunity, will come more production from this kid. His game is developing into something of a Matthew Tkachuk type player with arguably a quicker release. His shot is really accurate from the eye test. I am just so impressed with the growth of him and this team especially since Monty has taken over. What a run!

You are good JC. I didn't take exception to it. Actually, you are right. The only award that matters is the Cup. I am excited about having Bolduc on the Blues and his progress. Also, this forum goes silent at times. I was craving for some hockey talk.John Cocktoastin wrote: ↑05 Apr 2025 22:29 pm Hey, Jedi. Didn't mean to be smug on your post. I apologize.
Re: Bolduc for Rookie of the Year
His goal in the 2nd was impressive. Sure appeared that he shot off of his back foot ... and I really wasn't expecting him to shoot after fielding that pass.
And while screened, I don't think Blackwood expected him to shoot either, given that he was fumbling it a bit.

His wrist shot has incredible acceleration. I think Jimmy's is like that too, but I haven't seen it enough.bud white wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 08:41 am His goal in the 2nd was impressive. Really good points, both of them.Zizzle1297 wrote: ↑05 Apr 2025 22:39 pm He should be considered but won't. Had he started the season the way he has been playing he might be considered. Its impressive that he is only averaging just under 13 minutes per game.
I have a hard time putting a ceiling on this kid but let's just say he has of late met or exceeded expectations, and not just goal scoring.
Could he be the missing center for next year?

Pretty exciting regarding the collection of young guys who can shoot the puck who might be in the upper class of the league in that skill area ... Bolduc, Holloway, Snuggerud, and Kyrou (young-ish).

If we have monty all year i believe bolduc wins it hands down. Look for 25-27 next year. Hope 50-60 pt depending how lines shake up. 3rd line might be really fun next year.Zizzle1297 wrote: ↑05 Apr 2025 22:39 pm He should be considered but won't.
