Again, every empty net goal that Ovie every scored is part of the record. If he thinks "class" demands that an empty netter should not be the record breaker, why is it logical to count empty netters in the total. Empty net goals are very important to the outcome of a game. And, as a previous poster pointed out, how bad would it be if Ovie passed up on scoring an empty netter by reason of class and then the other team subsequently scored to tie the game?

No, I just think that Ovie is being too egotistical!! What if Ovie is standing in front of the net and a shot from the point hits him in his butt then deflects into the net for a goal. Will his ego decline the goal, since it is not a highlight reel goal (absent its number in his career)? A goal is a goal is a goal.

I was seeing possible speculation that he may be a healthy scratch today for rest and so he could break the record at home. Not sure if there is anything to that. Hope sorokin is in net for isles.
