I don't know who the idiot was who taught him that but they shouldn't have anything to do with being on a ball diamond.

I get giving Contreras a half day off on a miserable day, and Pages a weekly start. What they need to do is give Herrera a 1B glove and some practice reps to increase his versatility and keep his hot bat in the lineup.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑05 Apr 2025 15:18 pmSome of these dumb decisions are likely coming from over his head. At least I hope he isn't that stupid. Likely a futile hope.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑05 Apr 2025 12:17 pm Herrera leads the team in homeruns and RBI even though hes started just 5 of the 7 games and oli benches him. Oli is an idiot. It will be a chore for the team to overcome his bad managing this season

Herrera is athletic enough to play left field. Boston was looking at him this off-season with an eye to maybe try him some in left field while doing some catching before they signed Bergman

Manny and Tony came to mind first to me as well but the real answer today is 'everyone'.

the One Knee approach was instituted last year, with the teams move to throwing lower in the strike zone. This got Willson hurt once b/c he was reaching too far towards the mound.
Flores complimented this move with drafting a 5'8" Catcher in the 3rd round....70th pick who was rated 150th best player on the MLB Draft Boards.
Flores makes stupid decisions sometimes...trying to get ahead of the curve/meta.

I. Hererra:
4 HR
11 RBI
.400 .455 1.100 1.555
Sits while WillyC DH's?
I love his bat, but that trade off isn't really encouraging.
If Herrera sits, I understand why.
And this is a front office and player development problem. People need to get off Herrera's back. He plays where he's assigned to play.
He rainbows his throws.
Therefore must get into throwing position faster and be more assertive
in taking the follow through, batters interference if they don't give IH his lane.

Yes, and I googled Manny, he is still kicking. Used to see him signing at a lot of card shows, mostly in Pittsburgh and Kansas City, some in Chicago.11WSChamps wrote: ↑05 Apr 2025 15:29 pmOr Tony Pena.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑05 Apr 2025 15:26 pmMaybe the ghost of Manny Sanguillen. And this is a front office and player development problem. People need to get off Herrera's back. He plays where he's assigned to play.
And still far from mastering the basic defensive skills of the position.
That is not a critique.
It is simply the reality.
