Think a 33 yr old vet will suddenly turn into some kind of offensive leader when HES NEVER BEEN one is foolish
He’ll have his hot streaks but certainly not dependable…….
He has an .810 career ops and .351 career OBP he doesn’t have to be an offensive leader he just needs to do what he has his entire career and that will be an offensive leader.
He’s a 5th place hitter…..not top 4
His bat will play at second once he gets going I wouldn’t object to it but let’s be real if they pulled him from 2nd in the order put Walker there and Walker started hitting .100 you would be the first one saying how stupid oli was for moving him from 7th. It’s like the ridiculous posters last year roasted oli for continuing to his Winn 8th then he moved him to lead off he went cold and the same ones immediately roasted him for being stupid and moving him from 8th where he was hitting well. Oli is bad but posters need to be more consistent and honest with their criticism you can’t call for something then slam him when he does it and it doesn’t work

Noot
Donny
Herrera
Na
Wouldnt be bad but it would never happen oli isn’t going to lefties in a row at the top of the order back to back You can’t go Herrera third because oli loves to throw pages in late in the game and you can’t have him batting third
There is more over reaction here at CT than a bunch of 9th grade chick's. A player has 4 good games and he should be the cleanup hitter until the end of time. A guy has 4 bad games and he should be hitting 9th, or hitting in Memohis!

A strikeout machine should not be batting second in the order no matter how many runs the team is averaging or what the player did in the past.
Right now, WC is that strikeout machine. Move him down in the order until his batting eye/stroke returns. Otherwise, the manager allowing this to continue out of deference to the player is a disservice to the team.

lol +1 people complain about oli using a different lineup last season but want changes made based on very small sample sizes after just 7 games

I never thought WC is a 2 hitter. Group either hot or consistent hitters together to score runs…..win games. having a dead spot or K machine at the top of the order doesn’t make sense

If you think a career .351 OBP .810 career ops hitter is an out machine then no one should bat second because they are all
Dead spots and no one should bat second. You don’t have a career .351 OBP .810 ops hitter for as long as him without being consistent it would be insane to shift lineups based on 7 games

Cool. Let's see it.
Sounds like this is your first season watching baseball.

He's had a bad 7 or 8 games. It happens. To everyone.
I feel bad for pitchers once he comes out of it...he's going to go on a tear, and it's going to be fun to watch!

Perhaps he NEEDS the stress of Catching to HIT and play 100 or so games……..
It seems Monsieur De Treville and quite a few others here have simply over-rated Contreras, for this season, and continue to under-rate Burleson. I guess, "whatever floats your boat". lol
