My eye's have been open on him for some time, the kid is a flat out hitter.
Better get 575-600 PA's this season or Oli's a bigger moron than we already know he is.
If he's not catching, then he needs to be the DH.
He's a way better DH option and hitter than Norman, the Bison or Baker.
I was still skeptical on what kind of hitting upside Herrera had, but yesterday did open some eyes, WOW!
Now to strive to keep him healthy, I'm good with Pages catching about one game per series IF that then means Herrera DH's a lot of those days he gets off from catching. Try to keep those hands healthy. Having Pages in there a lot of the time when the hard throwing Helsley pitches could help, with Herrera just getting flipped to DH.
If the above happens, does Burly really have a good fit with this team? His current trade value is decent, around +12.5M.
I don't see how Burleson is connected to Herrera. AB spot on the team is basically one of a
player with a higher floor and with the hope that he's replaced by a higher ceiling player.
The team will stay in the hunt in this division as long as the SP can hold off injuries or cover
those injuries. Very possible those ideal trade pieces never get used if the case.
How does Burleson have a higher “floor”? We’re talking about a one dimensional player who doesn’t excel at his one dimension.
Hererra has a way higher floor, the Bison has already reached his level and it's platoon player since we all know he can't be allowed to face LHP.
I hope Bloom deals Bumbles, clear the clutter.
you might be confusing higher floor with higher ceiling ---- Herrera has a way higher ceiling at this point based on last year a week so far. Bison's floor seems to have been established but i doubt he ever really does much better than that hence he would have a lower ceiling. We have a few high ceiling guys we seem to be waiting on in Walker, Gorman and Nootbar ---- we need a couple of them to start blossoming.
I think he was confused too.
Agree 100%, Hererra's ceiling is way above Burleson's.
And this could the year Noot, if he stays healthy, really blossoms into an star.
I like how Walker looks in these first six games, Gorman looks much better that he did last year too in limited action (he needs more PA's over Bumbles).

Herrera came into this season with a .289/.365/.398 batting line in his MLB career. That .765 OPS is better than Burleson’s best OPS in a season in the majors.
Again, I don’t see how Burleson’s “floor” is “higher”. He’s a low floor player with a lower ceiling than a lot of guys we have.
i can see that also -- i guess burleson just had more plate appearances last yr and a bit more success only because herrera didn't play as much... so i was more saying burleson may have had a higher floor starting this season than herrera. i like my 9ft ceilings.... this is getting me dizzy. Herrera is better than Bison.
