I can excuse Winn a bit more.
Young hitter and while he can’t hit squat at least he is mostly swinging at strikes.
Contreras....for an accomplished vet is flailing pathetically at garbage!
Takes 1-0 pitch right down the middle then flails at a pitch nowhere near the plate.
He needs to hit 6th next game. And he’ll handle it mentally.
Personally I think he would welcome the move as he knows he is killing the team!
If Winn's 170lb *ss did in fact F with his swing to try and increase launch angle in the offseason there's no excuse. If that's true I find it shocking the brass didn't do something to stop that sh*t.
Only thing worse than watching one of them F up again is having to watch them both in the same inning.

I doubt winn is going down unless they changed their mind on their off seasons stated goal of letting the kids play and get 500-600 at bats and are abandoning after less than 30 at bats
true -- but with all his spring at bats is he about 5 for 80 now?
Im not saying I would object if he got sent down I am saying thats what they said let the kids play and play through slumps and get 500-600 at bats and to change it after less than 30 or 80 if you include spring training is still far less than 500-600 and yet more proof the cardinals cant commit to rebuilding winning or resetting

Impressive how few walks the Card pitchers are giving up. No walks yesterday thru the first 9 (by both teams), none so far today.

Gray is delivering.
Angels have clear depth edge in BP.
If Sonny can hold them through seven:
8th- Matz?
9th- Maton? (I doubt Helsley is available today)
10th???- Fredbird? Pray??
