What an insightful take. dumb[ash].
It fits the narrative posted
As per usual, all you can do is attack the posters. You think the things posted are stupid but you are unable to explain why they are stupid.
Monday morning quarterbacking and a huge over reacting to a 3 game begining, and the expected, equally over reacting to a first loss. Typical CT.

Over reacting to the negative and the positive of small sample sizes. Critique of minutia to fit the bias.

It's like posters don't recognize it's the 4th game of a 162 game season. Marathon, not a sprint.
Ah so it's ok that it was badly managed since there are 158 games left and if we miss the playoffs by one game, it'll be a much later game that made the difference because the early ones count less.

Nearly all of OP's points were stated in the GDT before outcomes were known. Not Monday morning QBing.

This is a baseball forum people are going to react to each game and discuss the good and bad things. It wouldn’t be much of a forum if after every game they just say well it’s just another 1 of 162

Nearly all... again, one game out of 4. Marathon.

One game can decide a season...are you claiming this is it and you expect the Cards to make the post season?

It's the distinct, inane overt hatred that's gets tiring. It's manic

Like ok, things should have gone differently. It's game 4, oh well.

But the manager is making the same tactical errors he's made throughout his illustrious MLB career. This demonstrates he's had zero growth.

This demonstrates that come August or September, when, thanks to our impressively weak division, we may very well be in the thick of a playoff chase, he will continue to manage the same way in those same situations.

I'm fine if you want to take a Winn or a Contreras struggling and say it's early and that they are still figuring things out. Absolutely no reason the same logic should apply to the manager.

To me this loss is much more on the players than the Manager.
Walks leading to all the runs and failures with RISP.
And I am not an Oli fan.
I did think he pulled Herrera too early and I would have hit Gorman for Winn with a RH pitcher.
Still.....Oli will continue to be questioned as his decision making has lead to more losses than wins.

Basil Shabazz wrote: 01 Apr 2025 08:07 amI'm assuming that in Oli's mind it was for better defense. But, you don't substitute your 5th hitter that early in a close ballgame to play for marginally better defense. Also, you can't go the whole season subbing out your catcher for defense in the bottom 3rd innings all the time. Similarly, you can't go all season moving your CF to RF late in the game. These moves have negative impacts on your young starters and could hinder development. Show them you believe in them every once and a while.
If that is the case, yes, I think that is stupid for exactly what you said about subbing your #5 hitter. Way too important of a lineup spot for an incremental defensive upgrade. However, if it was for the following reason, I can accept that.
Rocket Scientist wrote: 01 Apr 2025 08:09 am I believe it was because of Herrera losing track of strikes and letting the runner go to second because of his mental mistake.
If that is the case, I can get behind that. However, I do not want it turning into some kind of Tyler O'Neil situation like last year or whenever that was. But yea, if that's it, then let it be done and over with. You proved your point, now we can move on.
