My 25-26 Forward Lines
Balancing lines with skill sets and experience. Kid Lines are fun and ok on rebuilding teams, but the Blues are likely contenders next year:
Bolduc-Thomas-Snuggerud
Holloway-Schenn-Kyrou
Neighbours-Dvorsky-Buchnevich
Walker-Alexandrov-Toropchenko
Not that I don’t like Faksa, but they’re going to need the cap space. If Sunny is willing to accept a limited role with a corresponding salary, I bring him back for depth. I think Neighbours and Bolduc could be flipped, but I think Bolduc is really coming on. Neighbours is more of a 3rd line scorer. Either way, the Blues will have 3 deadly scoring lines.

Sunny is still signed for next year. Faska is not.

Alexandrov has no place on our 4th line.
Sunny will be our 4th line center.

Re: My 25-26 Forward Lines
Some people’s fascination with Alexandrov is in itself fascinating. Dude is clearly not an NHL player. He had ample time to prove himself, on a team that was desperate for talent and he still couldn’t crack the lineup over the Walkers and Toros of the world. Penciling him in on the forward lines next year is just totally avoiding the reality of the situation.britishblue wrote: ↑31 Mar 2025 16:02 pm Alexandrov has no place on our 4th line.

Re: My 25-26 Forward Lines
Alexandrov has got a shot to play in the NHL. He got sent down and killed it in the AHL. He's worthy of another shot. HEs young enough. He has upside. He plays the right way. His contract is up. So we shall see. Arbitration Eligible RFA.Backesdraft wrote: ↑31 Mar 2025 16:13 pmSome people’s fascination with Alexandrov is in itself fascinating. Dude is clearly not an NHL player. 48 pts in 42 games. +11. Hes doing what he was asked to do. Now--hes not necessarily going to be a Blue--he will probably play somewhere. Sunny and Faksa are big dudes. I think you replace them with Big Bodies. Alexandrov is an average build.

Re: My 25-26 Forward Lines
I like this one. Top 9 all have scoring ability. Could Snuggerud eventually bump Buchy to the 3rd? You could have our current top line wingers playing on the 3rd!BluesDom wrote: ↑31 Mar 2025 16:45 pmAlexandrov has got a shot to play in the NHL. He got sent down and killed it in the AHL. He’s played around 50 games. How many times did Walker yo-yo between the AHL and NHL. Alexandrov has played very well in Springfield this year.Backesdraft wrote: ↑31 Mar 2025 16:13 pmSome people’s fascination with Alexandrov is in itself fascinating. Dude is clearly not an NHL player. As I said, Kid Lines are fun on teams that are rebuilding, but not on a Cup contender. That’s why I have Snuggerud with Thomas.BluesDom wrote: ↑31 Mar 2025 16:45 pmAlexandrov has got a shot to play in the NHL. He got sent down and killed it in the AHL. He's worthy of another shot. Re: My 25-26 Forward Lines
Chalk me up for this combo. They will not break up that second line as it seems to be firing on all cylinders. First line makes sense as does the 3rd. The only wild card for me is how Snuggs picks up on defense. They will not risk him being on any of the top 2 lines u til he can prove himself there which is a significant jump.BluesDom wrote: ↑31 Mar 2025 16:45 pmAlexandrov has got a shot to play in the NHL. Re: My 25-26 Forward Lines
Lines are right...The pressbox will have Joseph and Texier as of now and no Alexandrov however. I am sure in the offseason, Steen will be looking to deal Texier and Leddy-if he can find any takers. Otherwise, Suter will be let go and Alexandrov does not have a roster spot.BluesDom wrote: ↑31 Mar 2025 16:45 pmAlexandrov has got a shot to play in the NHL. Defense pairings
Parayko Fowler
Broberg Faulk

Could be wrong, but I don't see the need to add anyone other than maybe a top 4 defenseman but only if looking to improve something...I think cap allocation will go towards extending current players and signing Hofer. Save extra cap room for an in season addition if you are faced with a big injury.
Re: My 25-26 Forward Lines
He has played well at Springfield, but he has not played center. I don't think the organization views him as a center.Red7 wrote: ↑31 Mar 2025 20:42 pmHe’s played around 50 games. I think the next upgrade will be on right D. I’m think they will look to upgrade Faulk with a younger D man.clemonsonroots wrote: ↑01 Apr 2025 00:50 amLines are right...The pressbox will have Joseph and Texier as of now and no Alexandrov however. They will have a good look at Dvorsky over the next couple weeks and should have an idea what his chances are at making the team next year.
I also wouldn’t rule out a big trade that send a package of current players and prospects for a star player.

Re: My 25-26 Forward Lines
I'd hate to just send Alexandrov off for peanuts with the year he is having in Springfield. If they make it in soon bring him up and let's see what he has.
I like all the lines brought up here really. But as we all know DA ...the DA with one year left....... it is not likely he won't have a move or two up his sleeve.
If he does something big I will trust he thinks it through...the Brady Tkachuk stuff scares me personally....I hope this team keeps it's closeness and cohesiveness amongst themselves and holds onto it's young players we have all been watching and waiting on.
How this season plays out will play big in what if anything DA will do.

Re: My 25-26 Forward Lines
Alexandrov is 3rd in the AHL in points per game amongst players that played a minimum of 20 games. The other two players ahead of him are 30 years old.

Re: My 25-26 Forward Lines
I dont think there will be a lot of roster movement this Summer for Army, the team is already here
Faksa
Suter $800k
Hofer $3 mill
are the openings in the next falls roster
My guess is they resign Suter and Hofer I am not sure about Faksa. On one hand the WTF line has been great so there could be a thought to keep that chemistry on another angle Dvorsky and Snuggerud will surely be apart of the equation and Texier is also signed.
Some long shot FAs, Trent Frederic I could something happening there still as Frederic could be a nice 4th line addition but at what cost, certainly wouldnt overpay. Otherwise
Buchy Thomas Snuggerud
Holloway Schenn Kyrou
Neighbours Dvorsky Bolduc
Walker Sunny Toropchenko
Texier/Joseph
Fowler Parayko
Broberg Faulk
Leddy Suter/Tucker
