There is a big difference in sending Winn down versus sending Gorman or Walker down. Defense actually is better when Gorman and Walker are not playing. Winn plays one of the most demanding positions SS and there is a drastic fall off from him to Donovan at SS. Set Winn for a game or two but they really need his defense.

Brendan Donovan is not a major league SS no range and weak arm but whatever, all other SS are in Memphis

As for Winn, his hitting woes are due to poor hand positioning thru the swing, he is swinging under 90% of pitches he is missing, when he said he was swinging for fences late last year, that was a red flag and he screwed up his swing

He's great defensively KY. It's too early to send him down. They do need a true SS though if they have to send him down. No moves necessary yet though. Game 5 or 162 is tomorrow...

Developed bad habits, got homer happy late last year.

I think Winn can correct this and spray the ball like early to mid last year but somebody needs to get thru to him asap

Someone needs to talk to him to tell him he doesn’t need to hit 30 homers and steal 30 bases to be a star. He said he worked on his strength and speed this off-season. He’s trying to hit a homer every at bat with every swing it appears.
Last year he was one the best 2 strike hitters in baseball as he fought off tough pitches and focused on putting the ball in play. He needs to go back to that approach. I think all the talk of being a super star like Witt of Henderson got into his head. He’s not that type of player.
