Was his vision of doing absolutely nothing in the offseason 10 steps ahead of all of us? Is he operating in 4 dimensions?
His vision was to trade Arenado, Contreras, Gray, Helsley and start over.
But the contracts he made with them, made it impossible.
So he failed his offseason goal and was forced to bring them all back and do nothing.
Ironically, his failure might be our gain.
Could this team be the "Accidental Champion" ?
Absolutely.
Not true.
WC and SG have NTC.
NA has a small list of teams.
So right there, Mo had little to know power/options.
Regarding RH, if the market isn’t there, why deal right away?

It might also be another year where Mo was saved from himself. His 1,2,3 goal was to trade Arenado and failed and he looks pretty good so far so if he has a bounce back season it could be yet another Mo was saved from himself like when heyward took less Money than mo offered to go to the cubs or when price took more money to go to Red Sox or Stanton refused a trade to St. Louis
Luck is involved. Cards are one of the few teams that hasn't written off or dumped $100 million contract.

No reason to keep pushing for the Nado trade, absolute waste of time. No means no... He did this with Stanton years back, Giancarlos made it clear as day he didn't want to come here, but Moe kept pushing until Stanton was traded to the Yankees.

Why no reason to spend time exploring a Nado trade?
It's not like he spent three months asking the Astros...

I think your history on Stanton is not quite right. He said no after the Cards had an agreement with the Marlins. You are good at distorting facts.

Hyper focusing on Nado tot he point of rumination only to keep him and not be able to move him had us all tricked. Pure sorcery
He had you tricked for sure
Actually he didn't, I stated Nado wasn't going anywhere I said it from day one. No reason to leave the Cardinals he has it made.
Your hyper focusing narrative is just pure speculation. I doubt that there's any truth to it.

Nov 14
The St. Louis Cardinals received the same news that the other MLB clubs received on Tuesday monring: Giancarlo Stanton would reportedly veto a trade to the Cardinals and/or Red Sox. Additionally, rumors have escaped that the asking price in prospects for Stanton is outlandish and prohibitive for any club.
St. Louis Cardinals Chairman and CEO Bill DeWitt, and President of Baseball Operations John Mozeliak issued the following statements on the club's potential acquisition of Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton:
"We had an agreement to acquire Giancarlo Stanton from the Miami Marlins, subject to him waiving his no-trade clause. We have been notified that he will not waive his no-trade clause to come to St. Louis. While we are disappointed in his decision, we will continue to make every effort to improve our club for the upcoming season," said DeWitt.
"Unfortunately we were not able to convince Stanton to waive his no-trade clause and join the Cardinals. We felt this was a great landing spot for him, but it was not meant to be," said Mozeliak

Houston was never on list and Moe kept pushing. Why? How about improving other elements of the team instead of trying to force someone into something they don't want to do?

According to reporting by Katie Woo, Arenado had a shortlist of five teams he’d consider waiving his no-trade clause for: the Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, and Houston Astros.
Now here's some speculation for ya... I think Nado's wife vetoed the Houston trade.

He was trying to rewrite history as if Mo never made a trade before and was fixated on dumping salaries.

When did that report come out relative to him formally rejecting the trade to the Stros? If in fact the Stros where one of his teams, which I don't personally believe, then why would he say no, unless like you said his wife came over the top.
It sounds more reasonable to me that they were never on list, but.... What's done is done. Personally I am glad he didn't get traded you wouldn't have gotten squat back for him anyway. I was on that "narrative" for months....

Well apparently, they were on his list.
Do you really think Mo would waste his time setting up a trade to a team Nado refused to go to?

Yes I do. He tried it with Stanton back in 17, slightly different but was trying to obtain a player from the Marlins who had a NTC and stated he didn't want to go to Boston or St Louis when those talks heated up.
