Attendance
Just watched hilights from game today. Pretty sparse crowd in the outfield all game. I guess it’s what we expected after the last two seasons and the pronouncement from Mo to pretty much accept mediocrity but man it makes me sad to see the lack of interest.
Re: Attendance
Eh, the boring Twins were the opponent, and the weather was iffy.

Re: Attendance
Fans have been frustrated and have wanted to send a message and I believe that message has been sent.
Now, if all these young players emerge as excellent players it’s going to be important to fill the stands to extend some of them and have $ for the additional pieces that we’ll need at the trade deadline. Hopefully the fans are quick to come back.

Start out 20-5, keep the exciting play going …..timely hitting….stealing bases….great defense…..fans will be backTheFantasyStud wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 22:03 pm Fans have been frustrated and have wanted to send a message and I believe that message has been sent.

Re: Attendance
Yeah, “the OPPOSING team isn’t interesting enough” and
“what if I get wet?” sounds wayyyyyyy better on the BFIB reputation as opposed to “we’re starting to get sick of the complacency” when explaining why the opening day weekend crowd was unimpressive……..

I guess the forecast thunderstorms had nothing to do with it.Banner29 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 22:16 pm

Re: Attendance
26,000 official attendance, but turnstile count was probably no more than 15,000.

Re: Attendance
Esp if you as a FO show you will reward a team that overperforms. Nobody expected 2015 team would be on a 100+ win pace. Not every season's team has earned the right to the FO going that extra mile, but that one did. That sent a message that winning was secondary to ensuring that they met a certain profit margin.Goldfan wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 22:07 pmStart out 20-5, keep the exciting play going …..timely hitting….stealing bases….great defense…..fans will be backTheFantasyStud wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 22:03 pm Fans have been frustrated and have wanted to send a message and I believe that message has been sent.

My question is this: if this team overachieves will they go thst extra mile and pick up a bat or will it be more excuses?
Re: Attendance
Read that the attendance was the lowest first home series attendance we’ve had since…. 2004. That’s not exactly bad company.

Better yet, what if the team is in wild card contention and Mo trades Arenado and/or Helsley?RichieRichSTL wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 22:57 pmEsp if you as a FO show you will reward a team that overperforms. Re: Attendance
Man, you can come up with more excuses. Advance ticket sales have nothing to do with a weather forecast.Cranny wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 22:25 pmI guess the forecast thunderstorms had nothing to do with it.Banner29 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 22:16 pm

Wow. Looks like Pittsburgh or Oakland.
We must be near rock bottom at this point
As long as team keeps Winning, couldn't care if they were playing to an Entirely Empty Stadium.

Fans were disappointed by the lack of offseason movement and didn't want to throw down big money right away.
Winning solves all.
Cards keep playing good baseball, Busch will be packed by late April.
Re: Attendance
The threat of storms had some effect on the attendance, of course. The off season inactivity had more, but if the current performance of the offense and pitching is maintained, the crowds will increase.Cranny wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 22:25 pmI guess the forecast thunderstorms had nothing to do with it.Banner29 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 22:16 pm
