Pekarcik/Dorion Playoff Game

Post by Bluesfan1978 »

I watched the Moncton vs Quebec playoff game last night.
Pekarcik not too much to add to since I saw him play last. He has a shot that I’d like to see him use more. Probably the fastest player on the ice. Plays a strong two way game.
Gritty as well and had a fight in game 1. I can’t see how he won’t develop into a top 9 forward for the Blues in 2-3 years especially if he adds some strength and weight to his frame.
Dorion I was pleasantly surprised with. Definitely looks like more of a defensive center. Kills penalties, good positioning, gritty, protects down low in his own zone. He also has no issue battling in front of the net in the ozone for positioning. Skating seems ok. Not sure if he’ll ever suit up for the Blues but if he does it will be as a 4th line player.

It has been a very quiet start for our prospects in their postseasons. Snuggy got two goals but he is obv done.

Jecho and Mrsic are playing each other in a 2 v 7 match, however the 2 seed was by division win they really ought to be the 4 seed. Each got a primary assist in the second game yesterday, but it's other guys taking the offensive lead at this point. Mrsic really slowed down at the end of the year too.

Jiricek was a -2 in a game his team was leading 5-2, then I think he ended -1 because he was on the ice for his team's ENG.

Lindstein has been getting almost no time on ice (like under 5 min a game a couple times) in the playoffs for Brynas. However in this morning's series clinching win (they went WWLLWW) he was more impactful, scoring the opening goal and adding an assist on the second goal. Now they advance to round 2. His team made the top league out of relegation last year then they won the regular season. Jakub Silfverberg is leading them.

Stenberg looks like he's really getting comfortable on the ice at the AHL level, he is going to be part of this young core IMO. I'm more excited for Stenberg than Snuggler. Don't know if I should be but I see him more of a do it all Holloway type.

Stancl's skating looks fine for pros, a huge deal.

Colten Ellis is locked in right now.

Moncton (Pekarcik) is the class of the Q and with Carter Bear out for the year, the WHL is Spokane's to lose (McIsaac). Both Jiricek and Burns' team are int he mix in the OHL but neither is on the level of London/Windsor.

Thanks to both of you guys. Seattle, I agree with your comments about Stenberg. I think he is going to be a fantastic player for the Blues in the near future.

It’ll be interesting how each player develops, who is kept and lastly who is traded and what the return is.
