Oli is managing to keep his 7 figure annual salary job for a few more years.
I don't think favorites or teacher's pets or who has a hot sister will play into it.

Oli's instincts are to win as many games in the short term to save his job, with an incoming POBO who didn't hire him. That's understandable. Mo to an extent is the the same boat as he wants a successful farewell season. I think it will lead to salvaging a .500 season instead of developing higher ceiling players for future seasons.

Yea, Chaim and BDW2 would have to publicly come out and say he will be here in 2026, and I don't see that happening.

True, but DeWitt may not want to eat his '26 salary. It's odd DeWitt has essentially two POBOs who on their face could have conflicting objectives.

should be ,,,there is no way burleson should be starting over Gorman . If you don’t think managers can play their favorites your crazy.Not starting Gorman is managers decision . Burleson did not win the DH position by his stats.Gormans potential can be great but he has to have at bats. Nobody on this forum can tell me burleson has more potential than Gorman. They the cardinals said this is Gorman’s make or break year.Then give him at bats.

Nolan Gorman, now in his fourth year, has had poor performance, including a bad spring training. To regain his place in the starting lineup, he needs to prove he's capable of delivering consistent results. Starting him in AAA for a month would have been a better approach to help him refine his swing and rebuild his confidence before returning to the majors.

He needs to prove he deserves to start at this point.

Cards home opener they had 5 runs scored on 10 hits and only 5Ks as team. There were several balls that were not hit hard but found holes. Something Gorman is not good at is putting the bat on the ball.

Gorman isn’t getting screwed, he made his bed. But I do agree if they are playing to see what they have and which players are cornerstones etc then Gorman needs to play every day. Burleson is a role player and we know it. Time to see if Gorman booms or busts once and for all

Gorman needs a ton of ABs, but Burleson had an .800 OPS against rhp last season. Gorman had an OPS of .800 in 2023. Burleson is clearly more deserving based on recent success. However, Gorman does have a higher ceiling. The problem, as I have continuously stated, is Scott should be in Memphis proving he can hit minor league pitching.
End of the day, it only takes one injury from Noot, Scott, Donovan, Arenado or Walker, and Gorman is playing every day. Hell get 400
ABs, minimum

No doubt in my mind, I take Burleson over Gorman. Why would you start a player that strikes out 1/3 of the time?
