Blues NOW Control Their Own Playoff Destiny
With the Flames losing last night, we no longer need help getting into the playoffs (even if Calgary ties us in points, we still have the higher ROW). That said, we have a LOT of tough games to close the season, so the boys are going to have to earn it.
Man I wish we had Buch and Parayko back... and where would we be without Fowler.
Go Blues.

ROW used to be the first tiebreaker, but it has been the second tiebreaker for the last six seasons.
Appropriately, regulation wins is the first tiebreaker.
In any event, last night's results did finally swap the tiebreaker tilt.
Calgary can tie the Blues in RW but Blues would own subsequent ROW tiebreaker.

Technically, fewer number of games played is the first tie breaker - but not an issue unless a new pandemic happens and the regular season ends early.seattleblue wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 10:49 am ROW used to be the first tiebreaker, but it has been the second tiebreaker for the last six seasons.

Agreed, if the season ends with an unequal number of games played (which is the way the standings look the entire season until it's all finished) they ditch the pretense of raw points and use their real measure which is points pct.otcboy wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 11:15 amTechnically, fewer number of games played is the first tie breaker - but not an issue unless a new pandemic happens and the regular season ends early.seattleblue wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 10:49 am ROW used to be the first tiebreaker, but it has been the second tiebreaker for the last six seasons.

(Having the same number of raw points with 'fewer games played,' that team obviously has a better points percentage. Math would prevent them from not having a better points percentage.)

We still need to keep winning, have a few tough opponents remaining in our schedule

Our schedule also get tougher with two games remaining with the AVs, Winnipeg and Edmonton away. Let's say we win the games we are suppose to win Detroit, Seattle, Pitts and Utah, we are at the magic 93. Would love to see us come up big against the Avs for a whole host of reasons.
Re: Blues NOW Control Their Own Playoff Destiny
Espcecially since the Avs may well catch the Jets...........IF we get in...........I'd like to avoid the Avs as long as possible.

I really want the 1WC. Vegas doesn't scare me and I'd LOVE to get Edmonton in the second round.

Man....a lot of guys are getting awful picky.
Let's FIRST just get in best "we" can and let the chips fall where they may.

Yeah. If the Blues get in they will be taken seriously by whichever team they play. At this point I just want to see the Blues IN and Kadri OUT.
