His dad, his uncle and his grandfather all played hockey at U of Minnesota, so it wouldn't surprise me if he decided to stay for his senior year.
But I think he's proven all he can individually at the collegiate level. Most people are saying he'll opt out here and sign with the Blues. I doubt they'll ship him to Springfield.

If he stays--the kid has brain damage and/or doesnt want to play for us. He's going to be traded if he doesnt sign.
Hopefully he plays a few games in the AHL and then gets called up to STL.

It looks like he's headed to the Blues. It makes too much sense. The Blues are an ascending team with a spot for him to contribute beginning next year, He may even get some games this year. Burning a year of his ELC was the plan for a while, I would imagine. In the long run, his play will determine his pay.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 08:15 amYep, that was the year. Ranked #1 all year and they lose it 10 seconds into OT on a set play their D bit hard on. That team had Jackson LaCombe and Ryan Johnson too. It was the D pair of LaCombe and Michael Koster that bit on that set play.Frank Underwood wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 08:04 am Minnesota should have won the National Championship in 2023, when they had a stacked team - Faber, Knies, Logan Cooley, and Snuggerud, among others. That was a great team, but they lost the final game to Quinnipiac in OT. Snuggerud has to realize it’s not going to happen, so time to move on. The fact that the Blues look like one of the most exciting young teams in the NHL should be pretty good motivation for him!
I’ll be shocked if Snuggy returns again. In fact, I expect a pretty drastic mass exodus from the Gophers - Sam Rinzel, Oliver Moore, Matthew Wood…probably Ryan Chesley and Connor Kurth too. These guys will say their goodbyes over the next day or two but I expect pretty much all of them to sign NHL deals by this weekend.

Re: Snuggy Season Over
He’ll likely come to STL to burn the first year of his contract. But I’d also like to see him help Springfield as he’s needed there more IMO. Unfortunately, as the Blues have surged, the T-Birds have plummeted. A lot of their forwards went out all around the same time…and then they lost Dvorsky too.
Springfield is likely to make the AHL playoffs but only because 23 teams make the AHL playoffs. If the season ended today, Springfield would finish 6th in the Atlantic and play a 3-game series against 3rd place Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the 1st round. The winner of that series would then play a 5-game series against #1 in the Atlantic, which is currently Hershey.
My guess is Dvorsky gets returned to Springfield as soon as Buch is deemed healthy and inserted back in the lineup.
