Will Cards' Home Opener Have a Full House?

Post by Pink Freud »

I see there are several online sources still offering tickets for Thursday; the cheapest reseller ripoff I saw was $84 on mlb.tickets, for one seat on the roof of Ballpark Village. 8) . With online scalpers, "sellout" is a relative term, with bots buying up thousands of tickets, then gouging individuals for 2 or 4 tickets with usurious prices.

Of course, in the current Cardinals zeitgeist, a lot of those scalpers might drop prices drastically near game time or end up eating them, so a reported "sellout" (ahem) could still have vast expanses of empty seats.

When was the last time the Cards had less than a sellout for the home opener?

Thursday weather could be dicey. A rainout and opening on a scheduled off day Friday when it's forecasted 82 and sunny would virtually guarantee a full house. And Gray would get an extra day for his illness.

I’ll be there and will send a Geraldo Rivera live from the combat zone report. At least that describes the introduction of ownership and management

Paid attendance wise it will be a sellout, but there will be empty seats. Not a ton because it’s opening day, but the most empty seats for an opening day in years.

I’ll be at game 2 on Saturday and I bought tickets on stubhub for well under face value.

My guess is we see 5,000+ empty red seats, first time in decades.
