Back to Springfield?
I think DD goes back to Springfield rather quickly as long as Buchnevich isn't out long-term. Army probably chose him for the call up because his Dad was still in the states. And it doesn't hurt to give him a little taste of the NHL.
Go back to Springfield and get a round or two of playoffs under your belt.

Re: Back to Springfield?
My feeling is that Buch isn't coming back anytime soon. I hope I am wrong. Devo earned a few more games with the Blues. I agree that him playing in meaningful playoff games would be good for development. However, Springfield in mired in a losing streak. I don't think they will make the playoffs.

Re: Back to Springfield?
He'll probably stay with the team unless Springfield starts winning.
Re: Back to Springfield?
What's right for the BLUES team right now as well as what's right for Dvorsky's development will drive the decision, versus what Springfield needs.

Re: Back to Springfield?
If they send him back, that’s a huge fail
Re: Back to Springfield?
I would agree. Monty said he liked his hockey instincts, I don't think he hurt his cause in that game. He does change the dynamic of that line, Sunny being a guided missile and DD a skills player, and Sunny has the veteran trust factor. With Buch's issues I like the idea of having a skills player available even if DD isn't playing every game. If he continues to shine on the PP and break even 5 on 5 he'll become a tough lineup decision when excess players are available, but these games are critically important. He may need to watch a road game or two to avoid bad matchups?
Re: Back to Springfield?
I think he's staying. The team has played so many games recently, 6 games in 8 days. I think you'll see some rotating of players, much like we saw with Leddy and Sunny getting maintenance days. Players like Kessel, Texier, and now Dvorsky will be subbing in as the big push comes.
It's not unlike what you see in the playoffs. Sometimes a slight change brings some energy.

If DD plays as well as he did yesterday, Sunny will get some R and R and he needs it. His days of being a guided missile are pretty much gone. He is a MUCH better Kevin Hayes on the third line. The difference is, Sunny leaves it all on the ice every single game. He bleeds the bluest. And, like Suter, he knows and uses every trick in the book.
I think DD stays for as long he does no worse than Sundqvist. The third line has been our weakest line since the turnaround, and it has been Sunny's wits , Joseph's speed and guts, and Bolduc's talent that has kept them from being a liability.
In the last Dozen games (13 for Joseph) Sunny and MJ combined have a total of 4 Even-Strength points... A single goal and no assists from Sunny and three assists and no ES goals for Joseph.
If DD and Texier can work with the mighty Mathieu Joseph to make the third line better.... we might see DD finish the season, and hopefully, the post-season there. Springfield is apparently toast for the post season and Dvorsky has aced his AHL course work IMO. He has nothing more to learn there. He has much more to learn with the Blues.

Yeah if the T-birds aren't making the playoffs, you might as well keep Dvo up with the big club. I'd like to see him playing, but even if he sits in the press box, its still good for him to practice with the team and be with the guys every day to see what it takes to make it in the best league in the world.
Re: Back to Springfield?
Not so sure. Sunnys game still fits the 4th line well so he ciuld slude down to 4th line and bump faksa out. Occasionally walker. And texier could be headed back to benchSection315 wrote: ↑23 Mar 2025 21:16 pm I think DD goes back to Springfield rather quickly as long as Buchnevich isn't out long-term. Re: Back to Springfield?
Sunny can easily slide down to the 4th line too bumping one of them out. Sunnys had good play as a 4th liner for us in the past and his game still fits its dynamicHarry York 37 wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 11:10 amDawgDad wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 10:38 amI would agree. Agree with your last two sentences. There is no reason to send him back.Harry York 37 wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 11:10 amDawgDad wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 10:38 amI would agree. No way would I mess with the 4th line. They are doing a great job setting the tone right now.Wattage wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 11:42 amNot so sure. My concern would be if they need some rest going into the PO's.sdaltons wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 12:39 pmNo way would I mess with the 4th line. Dingo especially gets beat up every night(the little guy is pacing to beat our season high hits record).
A day or two off for each of them to heal up before the PO's would probably be a good thing.
Now; game 1 of the PO's, Dvorsky would be the one in the press box and we go back to our "set lines"(I'm not even sure Dvorsky would be PO eligible).

I don’t see them sending him down right away. I think they’ll keep him around for the rest of season if the Thunderbirds aren’t in the playoffs.
Even if he only gets to play 3 or 4 games it would give him a good idea what he needs to work on this offseason.

Actually Springfield is in a playoff position. I still think they will keep him around for a few days minimum.
