I hated Devorsky back in the day, but there wasn't anything worse than Mick McGeough...aka Mr. Magoo because he literally made up penalties and completely missed the obvious calls. On the other hand was Rob Schick. My buddies and I would high five when Schick was announced as the ref.
The absolute worst ref back in the mid 80s through early 2000s was Paul Stewart.

That is an exciting report!zamadoo wrote: ↑23 Mar 2025 20:05 pmJust fine - looked a bit nervous early on, but generally in good position in each zone. Made good decisions with the puck, including a great no-look pass to set up Texier's tip-in goal on the PP (didn't get the assist).
Was going to comment that his skating/speed does not seem to be an issue, and his brain makes up for it in spades.

Did I see him make a mistake?
Great decisions with the puck, no hesitation and very sound defensively.
I was impressed.

I think he had rubbery legs in the early going due to nerves….only 19,first game, dad in town, etc. But overall, he settled in really well and looked pretty comfortable. I’d love to see him get another few games up here to see how he progresses, and to be around the team and the coaches. When I look at how Bolduc has progressed this year, it makes me excited to see the progression of guys like Dvorsky, Snuggerud, and others. I think Monty is great for the development of young players.dhsux wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 07:51 amGlad some one brought this up.zamadoo wrote: ↑23 Mar 2025 20:05 pmJust fine - looked a bit nervous early on, but generally in good position in each zone. No excuses intended but this kid has been on a 24/7 schedule between the T Birds, All star game and the World Juniors.Frank Underwood wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 08:19 amI think he had rubbery legs in the early going due to nerves….only 19,first game, dad in town, etc. But overall, he settled in really well and looked pretty comfortable.
