Toropchenko
Has been a really nice 4th line player.
Flashes some skill, 2nd on the team in hits, can skate and sets a tone physically.

Re: Toropchenko
He's looking like where I hoped he was going to pick up from last year.
Big, strong, not afraid......his finish work is looking much better of late.
Re: Toropchenko
I love our 4th line. Faksa was a hell of a pickup.

Agree, TBone. Really coming along since the beginning of the year.
And for a big guy, in open ice, has surprising speed.

Re: Toropchenko
Same. He was very disappointing for a large part of this season. Since the 4nations, along with the rest of the team, he’s really playing great

Re: Toropchenko
Love the 4th line as well but Torop doesn't belong there, imo. He has 3rd or maybe even 2nd line attributes. I could see him scoring 20 a year with some more skilled linemates.
Very similar situation to Barbashev and Torop is still only 25 years old.

Re: Toropchenko
Agree. His size, speed and emerging skill set indicate his ceiling may be higher than anticipated. I've always liked the guy, his heart, his effort, his fore/back check. Now the production is kicking in.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑23 Mar 2025 10:17 amLove the 4th line as well but Torop doesn't belong there, imo. He has 3rd or maybe even 2nd line attributes. Re: Toropchenko
Vitale was saying last week that he thinks Faksa was being a bit too conservative earlier and instead of trusting Walker/Toroochenko he would make the safe move and just dump the puck. Now he is looking to make plays and that line is starting to produce a little more offensively now.
Re: Toropchenko
Torpo has been working hard and banging all season. Nice to see him and WTFs getting some rewards. Those guys are not hesitant to shoot unlike the top lines.

Re: Toropchenko
Yep, I was thinking of him as a Barby 2.0 replacement (he's even Russian too I think!). Didn't it take Barbs a year or two to pick up his scoring?blackinkbiz wrote: ↑23 Mar 2025 10:17 amLove the 4th line as well but Torop doesn't belong there, imo. Torp also last year showed signs of more scoring, and hopefully be coming on now - espec now that we will make the playoffs!.
One things for sure, I would not want to see that big ____ flying in with a bead on me!

Re: Toropchenko
I agree with everyone.
Re: Toropchenko
I agree with how much better he’s been. There’s good chemistry on that line, and he’s been feeding off of that.
He and Walker seem to have buddied up and they play well together.
My only little gripe, and it was what I had before, is that with his size, it would be nice to see him pound the (bleep) out of somebody when the need arises, rather than Schenn always being the one to bruise his knuckles….

Re: Toropchenko
If Texier and DD struggle, can the WTF Line carry the team for two straight games?
