Re: Dvorsky Cometh!?!
I love the kid. He seems very likable and smart. I think that he will be a very solid player for us for a long time. I hope that he is TOP50, but I don't see it.
My hope is that the Blues find great players to go with him so that DVO can be who he is and that is enough.

Per NHL.com 25 mins ago, he's been called up.

+12forDiving wrote: ↑22 Mar 2025 18:53 pm Sunny is ill, too. Only played a few shifts in the 3rd period and the Blues came close to using 7 D until Sunny gave it a try they said.
John Kelly said beginning of this game that Sunny was a Game Time decision and he almost didn,t play this game and he had a Maintenence day the other day.
So I don,t know whats going on with Sunny but with him and Buchnevich questionable..
My GUESS they brought up Devo Dorvosky. if Sunny and Buch can,t go tommorrow .
I hope he does well.
Looking forward to seeing if DD plays and how well he plays.
Time will tell.
Re: Dvorsky Cometh!?!
I think Rivers indicated that Sunny's knees were heavily bandaged for games. He probably needs some time off so if we make the playoffs he will be a more dynamic player.
Re: Dvorsky Cometh!?!
"Illness."
Agree about company line. He has an acute case of being unproductive: three goals in last 27 games, while Neighbours, on same line, has six in last 12.

that thought crossed my mind alsoWilliamWestcliffe wrote: ↑22 Mar 2025 16:08 pmI wonder if there’s more to Buchnevich.Unfathomable wrote: ↑22 Mar 2025 16:03 pm Sounds like #stlblues 2023 1st round pick Dalibor Dvorsky won’t be playing for Springfield today and is getting the call up to the big club, who are playing Chicago right now.

Brown bottle flu running thru the team? Sunny loves his whiskey.

Re: Dvorsky Cometh!?!
There are two main things interesting about Dvorsky getting called up:
1. Why not the more productive and experienced Alexandrov? It seems like wanting to get Dvorsky some NHL experience is more important than immediate impact.
2. Will Dvorsky play in games/ If so, how many games? Will he play in fewer than ten games so that hIs contract slides?

Finally an indication that he is ready or very close to it.
Big deal all around considering the play off importance of things.

That's always been a good strategy to let them get their feet wet at the end of one season to prep them for potentially sticking the next.hockey jedi wrote: ↑22 Mar 2025 16:50 pm That could be the blueprint for blue chip prospects. Give them a taste at the end of the year so they are acclimated and motivated for next years camp. Get that first goal out of the way.
Hopefully not enough games to burn a year of control, but enough to get the taste.
Does anyone know if post-season games count against losing the year of control?
Re: Dvorsky Cometh!?!
Alexandrov is next to useless. He has had chances to make an impact up here, but did nothing. He’s a career minor leaguer.Frank Barone wrote: ↑23 Mar 2025 07:25 am There are two main things interesting about Dvorsky getting called up:

Pretty sure there not calling up DD to sit him on the bench.
Re: Dvorsky Cometh!?!
Ideally you have a practice before DD plays but frankly he should be ready to play, and why not? He's had some games playing with Bolduc which would help but Zach might be a 1st line callup. Me, I'd run out a line of Joseph, DD, and Bolduc with Holloway on the Thomas line and Texier with Schenn and Kyrou. Will be super-interesting to see how this plays out, how much line juggling. LGB!

I don't know how I feel about this.
Also, yes, playoff games count towards the 10 game threshold.
