Also noticed that Winn and Scott are not in the same game all the time.
Re: Poll- Winn leadoff
Scott beat out Winn just like he beat Siani. However, will the Cardinals who have nothing to lose in 2025 be bold enough to let Scott win either job. Most think that the team will do nothing even nationally. Therefore, get ready for what they perceive things will be in 2026

You may be correct. But if Scott and Winn play simontaneously Winn always leads off.LCA1951 wrote: ↑22 Mar 2025 16:02 pm Scott beat out Winn just like he beat Siani. No.....noot yessikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑13 Mar 2025 10:10 am Good morning.
I read where many of you have expressed concern that Winn lead off.
Leadoff must get on base and steal. Does he do this. No.
I’m not asking where he hits. Not the intent.
Do you think Winn should lead off. That’s the one answer question.
Enjoy.
Re: Poll- Winn leadoff
Respect your sentiment but I believe Scott should bat ahead of Winn if they are batting consecutively. Cardinals won 83 games with Winn batting first and was a bride's maid. Give the other way consideration. 83 wins will not do it.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑22 Mar 2025 17:15 pmYou may be correct. I meant, it seems that when they both play in the sane gane, Winn still leads off. I might have been vague.LCA1951 wrote: ↑22 Mar 2025 18:31 pmRespect your sentiment but I believe Scott should bat ahead of Winn if they are batting consecutively. Do you care to revise this batting order and your feelings about Noot? Do you still want him traded? Still think he should hit 9th? Or...have you seen the light?Melville wrote: ↑15 Mar 2025 12:05 pmSpeaking of one man being so right.....sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑15 Mar 2025 11:15 am There has been no one yet to endorse whether non at lead off. I ask again. How can we be so wrong and one man so right.
Blows my buzz.
If the Cardinals are serious about 2025 being the season which determines the plan for the years which follow, the CORRECT BASEBALL DECISION is as follows (against RH starters):
1. Scott - CF
2. Winn - SS
3. Donovan - 2B
4. Contreras - 1B
5. Burleson - DH
6. Gorman - 3B
7. Walker - RF
8. Pages / Herrera C (2-way competition)
9. Mootbaar / Koperniak / RH hitter (3-way competition)

Just fact-based analysis.
I am glad you revisited this topic because there are some interesting points to make.
One, I would not draw full season batting line projections with any specific player based on 4 games.
Two, tonight's game is a brilliant example of why the catcher tandem needs to bat low in the order as I advised above since the team clearly sees Herrera as a liability with the glove who must be removed in late innings.
Three, concerning Moot, I fully expect a flight-for-life helicopter to land in the outfield grass sometime in the weeks ahead to rush him to the nearest Level One Trauma Center after he steps on a teammate's newly arrived torpedo bat and suffers his next debilitating injury.
Yes, he should have been traded - it is the CORRECT BASEBALL DECISION.
That said, I am in the business of success.
It is what I do.
Therefore, I am always pleased to see whenever I see any human being succeed in a productive fashion.
I would rather have Mootbaar do well for 4 games than have him do poorly.
I suspect you agree.

Well, see this is where I have a hard time with your fact based analysis of Noot.Melville wrote: ↑31 Mar 2025 22:30 pmI don't have feelings about baseball.Monsieur De Treville wrote: ↑31 Mar 2025 22:12 pmDo you care to revise this batting order and your feelings about Noot? The facts tell me that when he plays he gets on base a lot, plays solid D, and he runs well. Yes, he's been oftentimes injured, but the injuries seem more flukish than chronic. We've had this discussion before...yes, we hold our breath due to his injury history, but when healthy he's a productive player who makes a pitcher work and gets on base a lot.
I agree about the catching. Actually, the Cards need to do something different, sooner rather than later. I love Hererra's bat...but he's a DH, Left Fielder, or first baseman.
Re: Poll- Winn leadoff
Some teams will bat a speedster 9th, in effect creating a 2nd lead off at that position. So is Winn improves his obp, that may pay dividends there
Re: Poll- Winn leadoff
I don't believe it is wise to include "we hold our breath due to his injury history" as part of an effective roster construction strategy.Monsieur De Treville wrote: ↑01 Apr 2025 08:03 amWell, see this is where I have a hard time with your fact based analysis of Noot.Melville wrote: ↑31 Mar 2025 22:30 pmI don't have feelings about baseball.Monsieur De Treville wrote: ↑31 Mar 2025 22:12 pmDo you care to revise this batting order and your feelings about Noot? STL made that mistake with Reyes.
And with Martinez.
And with The Paper Tyler.
And in each case, they not only wasted years, but it also paralyzed them from making the right decision - and damaged the team in the long term every time.
That is my objection to Lars The Human Sushi-baar: he is destined to always leave the team and fans wanting something more, feeling a little empty.
The CORRECT BASEBALL DECISION has been clear for the past 2 seasons: trade him.
All that said, I want success for everyone.
It is what my own career is all about.
Good to see him off to a nice start.
Enjoy it while you can.
The medics are on the way.
As for the catcher position, we are in agreement.
It is very telling that STL does not want Herrera anywhere near the position in a late and close game.
