@82birds, wind is shifting, but the speed is slight. shifting towards an east wind, about 5-6 mph. It's slightly blowing in across LCF towards the LF pole. Insignificant at the moment.

It was a little left to right at game time.

Moving him down in the order seems like an option but would it really help? He’s just flailing away.
He absolutely should be moved down the order. 9th spot until he starts hitting again.

Maybe let him leadoff against LHP.
He had a very nice rookie season. I am not throwing stones at that. To date very nice
was also very average. Lost can flip rather fast but ab's are usually needed.

He started off ST pull happy. He has not got on trach yet. More ab's can be more helpful than less
ab's in getting on track. Someone said something about "pressure". I don't know how a player feels
pressure in a ST game when he's not fighting for a roster spot. If that's pressure he may have picked
the wrong vocation.

Libby at 54 pitches, I'm not sure if he was getting additional pitches in the BP after his earlier appearances, but this is the most he's had all spring in live games. Does he see the 4th?

Now blowing in from RF per J. Rooney

that's almost correct....the way Roger Dean sits...it's too slight to be noticed, but it should be blowing in from LCF, but you could see it across the track in RF. At that speed, it won't make a difference. So probably a R to L wind...as of now.

lead off double. He's more than likely beyond his limit. This should be fun. Maybe he can get some gifted bad contact?

The Cards handled the Marlins and Nats rather well this Spring...or that's where most of our wins came from. Balanced scheduling ....bah. Give us 20 games apiece with the Nats and Marlins, please

Sadly I can see this being the morons OD lineup sans WillyC who will be at 1st base and probably The Bison at DH.

Siani in CF ::crazya::
Winn at lead-off
Pages behind the plate

No VSII
No Noot at lead-off
No Hererra behind the plate or even at DH
No Gorman instead of The Bison

Sure hope I'm wrong
I agree with you 100%, Rock. Stubborn, arrogant, and lazy are the words that I use to describe Mo. They describe OLI just as well.

not bad for his first outing of the spring. Matt Mervis was a gift to Maton...all he does is strike out vs. the Cards.

Maton at full capacity will be useful during the season. I imagine he'll have to see action on Monday vs. Memphis. He needs the reps.

Too bad that they may not trade an old guy.
Good news is the rotation will need more than 5,
probably more than 7.
