I blame Keith Law (even though he had nothing to do with the article) . . .
On a brighter note, Masyn Winn is in their "Steady and Solid" list, and Contreras and Arenado made their "30-something regulars" list, so at least the Cardinals have that going for them . . .

he lobbied for the omittance of Matt Carpenter. That has to be the reason.NYCardsFan wrote: ↑20 Mar 2025 13:59 pmI blame Keith Law (even though he had nothing to do with the article) . . .

It was kind of weird to see a player coming off their rookie year in a “steady and solid” list area. I would have expected a guy like Donovan in that.NYCardsFan wrote: ↑20 Mar 2025 13:59 pmI blame Keith Law (even though he had nothing to do with the article) . . .

Donovan didn't even make their "20-something regulars" list. But he did qualify for "Best of the rest," so there's that . . .Futuregm2 wrote: ↑20 Mar 2025 14:29 pmIt was kind of weird to see a player coming off their rookie year in a “steady and solid” list area. There were way more ex-Cards on those lists than there were Cards. It’s also really hard for me to quarrel with those rankings. This is just not that terribly talented of a roster.

Donovan was highly sought after this off-season by several teams. Rumor was Seattle was offering top 50 prospect Cole Young and a pitching prospect. Yankees were also highly interested but Mo shut them down and wouldn’t even listen to offers from teams per reports.
