yup
Anyone have the stats for GTGs given up in the final minute? I’d be shocked if the Blues aren’t leading that by far
This has been an ongoing issue for multiple seasons now. I don't know why this continues to happen.

It’s not a tough chance got beat glove side short side and cut the angle. 83% SP tonight 2 tough saves he had to make. Who’s the idiot?
Not a tough shot
First goal wrister 30 ft out glove side short side another softie. 2 quality chances all night 😆
Not sure what any of that has to do with this. My post was about the goal with 2 seconds left. I already said I know he wasn't great the rest of the game. This really isn't this hard but I see you are looking for something to complain about. Have fun!
You acknowledged he wasn’t good tonight thank you it was my point. Blues dominated the game gave up a free point can’t do that when points are precious.
But you called the 3rd a softie.

A 90+ mile an hour slapper from the dot is anything but an easy save.

The second one went through 3 players to the far post.

He just wasn't spectacular like we were hoping for, but 2 of those 3 weren't softies.

My buddy thought maybe the Boesser had snuck off the bench on a change but that makes no sense. I don't think anyone is changing lines at that point. They obviously never showed the replay on the jumbotron. I'm still dumbfounded by how that guy was so wide open and alone at that point. Just a total mental collapse.

What a rollercoaster of a game. Up 1-0. They score two early goals in the third and the place goes dead. Then the two goals in 25 secs has to be as loud as the rink has been all year. The deflating late goal and then the Broberg OT winner. Stinks that they got the extra point. It also really blows that when I last looked CAL was down 3-1 5 minutes into the third and then scored 4. Thanks NJ.
Every single Blues player went to the puck and just forgot about everyone else. It made no sense at all. Even if 2-3 go to the puck that still leaves the cross ice pass covered.

Just a complete collapse on the part of all the skaters.

I have a post somewhere that speaks to the Blues making multiple mistakes in the last two minutes, big and small. In the heat of competition little mistakes led to bigger mistakes, but we also need to give credit to the Nucks for making highly skilled plays on puck retrieval, passing, and a heck of a shot. The Blues will learn from this. Much to their credit they held up mentally and physically to take the extra point in OT, which I believe is huge and a key indicator.

Arguably the most talented player on the ice was Quinn Hughes. Pettersson and Boeser are highly talented forwards. Arguably the Blues took down the team with better talent in a highly spirited dog fight. Great hockey, there's more to like here than to quibble and fret about.

And the same freaking thing happened on the lone Nashville goal the other night. Might be time to start a couple of practice drills on that situation.

Problem is this has been a problem for going on something like 4 or 5 seasons now. The Blues have been one of the worst, if not the worst team in the league on 6-5. Numerous goals scored in the last minute of a game.

How this hasn't been addressed is beyond me.

The Blues are a suddenly exciting, mostly young team and they will make mistakes along the way. The irony is that the mistakes that were made in the last 20 seconds or so were made by two of the older players on the team. Oh well, mistakes happen. That was one of the most exciting and enjoyable games I have seen in a long time. Whether they make the playoffs or not, I love the direction this team is heading.

And to your other point about the youth of the team, 24 y.o. Tucker was the “old man” of the group that scored.

They all went near the puck but no one attempted to hit the puck carrier.
I don’t know if their strategy is to not hit anyone while trying to close games out or not? If it is they need to change it. So one hit the puck carrier. Make it hard to make a play.

That was the other part. Hell if nothing else grab him so he can't make the pass. Who cares if you take a penalty with 2 seconds left, but you have to prevent that pass from happening at all cost.

That’s kind of how Florida tied up before the break. No one actually tried to take the body.

Jeebus.... good point.
This team will be very good for a good long while.

I am getting old. To combat this, I go to the gym three times a week and work my (donkey) out pretending that I am Nathan Walker who is eligible for Social security. I got home at 9:15 St Louis time- not knowing the outcome, took a nice hot soak, and went downstairs for the first period and dinner. I went up to bed for the rest of the game. I was exhausted. The game was tense as hell, especially as the Game of the Week, and with about four minutes left, after a full workday and the gym... I was in trouble. To make things worse, our fantastic cat, the mighty Hickory, was nuzzling me and purring.
I woke up two seconds before we won in OT. At least my instincts are still sharp.

I will watch what I missed when I get home tonight.

When a team can face adversity like these men, it makes a fellow proud to be a Blues fan.

I am not well-versed in shorthanded tactics, but it seems like taking the man is always a bad idea.

I could be wrong.

What a great win by our boys. There's no way I believe we won the game but we were somehow still terrible. If we were that bad, the Canucks must not have cared about winning the game too much, or they should have trounced us. Players (and other humans) make mistakes. We were a good enough team that our Blues won the game against a team that wanted the win as much as we did.
