Re: Faulk
Two players at fault would be the far side winger and the LD. My guess is that they had Buch on the RW side given he was contesting the LD, so it was Schenn and Suter both assuming central/neutral positions that allowed the far wing a free walk in. Was actually just a ridiculous pass and a great shot.
Not exactly sure what the idea was there with that defensive pairing tbh.

Re: Faulk
We’d need to check a game replay, and my only guess is that Broberg and Fowler had just played shifts so it got defaulted to Faulk-considered our best D while Parayko is out . So Faulk played the 2nd most minutes by seconds , and choosing between Tucker and Suter, Monty took the experienced player. The unfortunate play was when fault tossed it into the Vancouver bench when he was just trying to prevent icing the puck. Turned out he had a second chance to get the puck out and seal the game but somehow directed the talk to Quinn Hughes and then Boeser lucked out by getting the puck and a sniper like shot, much like that last goal against Hofer last game. My guess is it’s a 50-50 chance of a goalie stopping such a rocket

Re: Faulk
I'd say 50-50 is about right. If you miss your angle by a hair, you are pretty vulnerable. And with a shooter like that at that range...the goalie basically has to guess. Ideally they know the tendencies and can make a somewhat educated guess, but that only gets you so far.Russdv14 wrote: ↑20 Mar 2025 22:04 pm We’d need to check a game replay, and my only guess is that Broberg and Fowler had just played shifts so it got defaulted to Faulk-considered our best D while Parayko is out . Faulk had a couple dumb plays with the puck and then Suter abandoned ship. Those were much bigger problems on that play.
Re: Faulk
And i have to give Vancouver credit, after the puck went out of the zone i am think game over, hell of a play by Hughes.
I just hated to give up the one extra point. With a handful of teams fighting for that last wild card I would hate to see us lose out by one point at the end of the year.

Re: Faulk
Faulk cost the Blues a point that game...when he threw the puck out the zone into the bench (when even an icing would have been okay) and on the next face-off when he just panicked and had it taken from him when again all he had to do was just ice it. He's never been a smart Dman, way too many holes in his game for his status here. Regardless of what happens this season the Blues D needs a rebuild...Parayko hopefully comes back to form, Fowler has been an offensive minded D neither Faulk nor Leddy have been, and Broberg is learning. Sutter is what he, a serviceable bottom Dman. Leddy is garbage.
